Tron roller coaster @MK?

Personally I would love for them to update the speedway (to electric or maglev cars - something more "futuristic") and then have the Tron coaster go around and over the speedway. I think it would be neat to be on the coaster and zoom around the cars and also to be ont he cars and see the coaster zoom by above you.

I get what you are saying, @rteetz, about having two indoor coasters next to each other but I know some of the Tron coaster in Shanghai goes outside and with my above proposal, I would adjust it to have more of the ride outside so it wouldn't be too similar to Space Mountain

I just feel there are other avenues they could explore before adding a second coaster to Tomorrowland.

As much as I want Tomorrowland to be updated/upgraded, I don't want a transplant. The ride looks neat, but Tomorrowland already has a coaster. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seems like it would be a good fit at Epcot futureworld. Need not be "tron". Could be a cross between test track and Tron. I don't think it's really magic kingdom IP.
In terms of where it's needed a WDW, think epcot would benefit the most even if the IP, isn't quite a perfect fit.

I'm of two minds on this one. Does Tomorrowland need another coaster? Not really. Is Tron necessarily my pick for IP in that area? Not at all. As much as I loved the original 80s movie, I never bothered with the more recent version. But it looks like a cool ride. At this point, I'm happy for Disney to be adding another premiere ticket ride to MK. The addition of 7DMT and Barnstormer are neat kiddie coasters, but it is possible that the park would benefit from another ride not so kiddie focused. Splash and BTMRR exist side by side, Space and Tron could as well.

I just wish MK would go more the Euro-Disney view of Tomorrowland. Instead of trying and failing to keep up with Tomorrow, make it a steampunk, fantasy type tomorrow that doesn't need so much constant updating. With some good creativity it wouldn't feel so stale every 10 years. Tron wouldn't fit in to this type of theme, however, so if they are looking at Tron, they must still be hoping to keep Tomorrowland with it's original focus, regardless of decades of evidence that it is too expensive to coherently maintain.

Since I believe MK could use another older child/adult ride, I'd rather see it in Adventureland to spread things out even further, but I'll take it just about anywhere. Tron looks like a cool ride, so I certainly wouldn't complain. But it's obviously not my first choice.

Should just put the old Fire Mountain in Adventureland and call it a day....that Rumor always sounded great.

Does anyone know if the slinky dog ride is going to be something for everyone to enjoy? Or will it be centered more for young kids?

From what I've read, it's going to be more of a family coaster (Somewhere between Barnstormer and SDMT, for example) and not a thrill ride like Space Mountain or Rockin'.

Makes sense I guess, I was hoping for something like Space or Thunder mountain. But I'm just looking forward to that area as a whole.

With the size of DHS, and the fact it already has TOT and R&R, I don't think that park needs another thrill ride at this point. After TS and SW Lands open, if the crowds stay perpetually high, then it might be needed. But right now, DHS needs attractions, period. And the more of those available for all ages, probably the better.

There would have to be room...and magic kingdom is already overrrun. Any major development after the current projects that isn't in Epcot or AK would be stupid.

Think about it: which parks have the highest overhead and need to attract more volume to generate revenue?

Hint: I just told you.

I can't argue that EPCOT and AK (EPCOT esp) need more stuff, need to attract bodies. But Tomorrowland speedway needs to go as well, and Tron WOULD fit in there I would think in both space and theme. I don't disagree that EPCOT needs the love more, but following WDW's history it sure seems that Magic gets most of the love even when it doesn't need it.

Not that I disagree...I don't...but we both know that WDW isn't getting a rollercoaster under this management...and it wouldnt be in magic kingdom if they did.
