Tron opening update rumors??

I’m assuming the train wouldn’t open before Tron? Believe it or not I prefer train to be open for my October trip, but don’t have high hopes.

Actually they just highlighted training of new cast members for the train on Facebook, so my guess is that is only a couple months away and ahead of tron.

Outside chance it will be open just before Christmas, the ride is the time consuming part the outside work left could be done in a month or two. If it doesn't open by Christmas, my guess would be it won't open until just before Spring break.

Seems like a lot of recent progress on it. Any rumors for opening date? Any chance it is open by October? Anyone have CM friends in the know?

I don't see any possible way it could be open for October. Maybe Christmas but mostly likely Spring 2023 which could mean Memorial Day.

My money is on Memorial Day 2023. Disney seems to like that weekend for opening new rides.

Universal is going to complete design, build, and open Epic Universe (their 3rd gate) in less time than it took Disney to get a single ride built. Not designed and built, just built.

Universal though doesn’t touch the level of detail that Disney does in their parks or rides. To me, walking through Universal is like walking through a carnival.

That being said, Tron does seem to be dragging along.

Compare any of the Harry Potter stuff with any of the Toy Story stuff.

Disney does the Carnival look better then Universal. Nothing can compare with Chester's in Dino land

To be fair, we have no idea how delayed it might wind up being. A projected opening is most definitely not reliable proof.

Take a look at Mummy... it still is not fully back open after lengthy refurbishment and they missed their projected reopening. Universal isn't immune to construction and technical delays any more than Disney is.

Disney is such a joke. Spring 2023. I'm annoyed that I have a trip already paid for that I need to take. Bring on Epic Universe, which is going to open NO LATER than summer 2025.

Maybe "spring" is a CYA in case but they need to get working on Splash and when they lose those numbers they can replace with Tron. Fingers crossed they are padding the timeframe because at this point they are beyond ridiculousness on how long it has taken to build a clone coaster that was already made sitting in warehouse.

I have to assume it's much more about when Disney wants to have the new ride for crowd distribution than the actual needed deadline. Perhaps they are hoping to get people back just after the 50th celebration ends.

I agree and disagree. They needed something huge for magic kingdom for the 50th. That would have been it. So yah u got cardigans over in Epcot forcthe 50th right. But it isn’t the magic kingdom. Yah it’s Epcot which is almost interchangeable to when u think Florida and Disney but not magic kingdom. I’m kinda torn with a yaaaa or naaa on this one.

My daughter mentioned spring to me yesterday cause she said she saw it on TikTok. All I said was get out of here. She knows to not even bother telling me anything said on TikTok that I can care less. Lol
