does anyone have the recipe for this cake. i have looked everywhere to no avail. back in may, my husband and i stayed at the wl and ate at whispering canyon and had their dessert - the triple chocolate moose stampede - well, we loved it so much that almost every night during our stay, we would go down to the restaurant and get some to go and take to our room. it was the best blend of chocolate cake, mousse, and fudge frosting i ever had.

so, if anyone could help. please i would appreciate it. just been craving it lately, and we won't be back there until december.

thanks :D

That sounds heavenly. I may have to head over there just to try it during our trip.

Sounds great!
I didnt know you could get to go food at WCC.
Do you call down first or just stop by and ask for a slice to go.
Since we will be at WL, it might be something to add to my daily intake of treats!!!

jburke, hi - -

the first time, we had dinner there and asked if we could have the cake to go, they brought it to us in a go box and added it to our bill. so whenever we ate there we would always get a piece to go.

a couple of times, we just asked at the front of the restaurant where the check in is and we got some to go. i don't think they would do full meals, but they did it for the cake.

i know i love that cake, i think when we go in december i might ask if we could buy a whole one and bring it home (we just have a hour and 1/2 drive). that would be heaven.

p.s. when i watched the show on disney unwrapped, the boardwalk bakery also had some wonderful things, it might be a good idea that before going back to the resort in the evenings to get some goodies for snacks or even for breakfast the next morning. we are going to try that too.

take care, :D

i just want to say thanks that you are trying to get me the recipe. i think you are wonderful.

i also wanted to say that i think the staff at wcc are some of the most friendly and energetic cm's at disney. we always felt welcomed and always have a good time there. we are greeted with smiles every time. the cm's at the check in desk even remembered us every time we went back. it was like a "welcome home" feeling.

so, i just want to say thanks to you and your peers for always making the day "magical". :D

Here's what I got today:

Triple Chocolate Moose Stampede-Disney's Wilderness Lodge

1 10" cake serves 12

You need:

1 10" chocolate cake
10 ounces chocolate mousse
kahlua simple syrup
fudge icing

Chocolate Mousse:

1 quart heavy cream
8 oz powdered sugar
4 oz chocolate pudding powder
4 oz cocoa powder

Kahlua Simple Syrup: (1 batch)

1 lb sugar
1 lb water
1 cup kahlua

Fudge Icing: (1 batch)

3 lbs chocolate chips
3 lbs condensed milk
1 1/2 lbs powdered sugar
1/4 lb butter
vanilla

Sounds to me like the "batches" in this recipe is for more than one cake so you can adjust. You could probably just bake a regular chocolate cake, cut it into layers and assemble from there with the mousse filling and icing. I hope this makes sense to everyone who was interested in it!

Good luck and happy cooking!

You got any pull with the room assignor?

Disneykid,

Would you repost, once you have converted the recipe? sounds divine and similar to Boma's zebra domes minus some chocolate!!!!

I wanted to add that you need to do an additional step then just assembling the cake. You need to take each layer and brush it with the simple syrup. You put as much as you need on, and work it into the cake. Usually you put approx 1/4 cup onto the cake and brush it in to each layer. Let each layer then "set" for approx 10 - 15 minutes before assymbling. Don't pour the entire 1/4 cup all at once. Add it in batches, and brush it in. This is the special ingredient to all good cakes, since it guarantees moistness and sweetness throughout the cake.

Haven't tried it yet but I've printed it off cause it sounds so yummy!!!LOL!!!

Will let you all know how I get on.

My DD told me today that she bought Mickey's cookbook at WDW in 1985, ($6.00). I told her I was going to buy her a new version while we were there next week.
It has receipes listed by restauant and resort.
Look for it ladies.

Has anyone broken this down? Would you mind sharing?

hi, FloridaCat,

i have been working on it, i am trying to break it down into a workable recipe for a family. i.e., one 9" cake. anyway, i am waiting to find out if the chocolate chips are either bittersweet, unsweetened or semisweet for the frosting. i think i am going to try unsweetened being ther is so much powdered sugar and condensed milk.

also, i am going to try and make this cake on thursday for the 4th of july, i will let you know how it turns out. then, once i have actually given it a try i can post what i have. i just want to make sure. :D
