We will be traveling with a group of 7 the first week of November, me, DH, DD 11, DS 14, BIL, SIL and their DS4, staying off-site and doing 2 or more days at the parks. BIL's family has never been to WDW, or anywhere else. They are not planners. BIL is a picky eater. I haven't bothered to get any ressie's yet, just because we don't know what days we will be there. Will we have any chance of just walking in and being seated anywhere without ADR's??

With a group of 7 I would probably pick a few ADR's to have just in case. Why not look at the menus on Allearsnet and see what you like. You could make a couple of ADR's then which you can always phone and cancel if you decide nearer the time you do not want them.

we just got back yesterday. we had a party of 8. i had some ADR's but tried to get some last minute ones and couldn't get anything!!! tried tuesday to get something for friday and le cellier was completely booked, same with akershus, we ended up at boma. several times we called the day before and got nothing.

i have never had this issue in the off season, the dining plan (and the first day of the F&W) really made last minute ressies impossible.

I totally agree with Danauk. We just got back on Saturday. We heard many families turned away while we were waiting to be seated for dinner. Le Cellier, Cinderella's Royal Table and Crystal Palace specifically. One thing I noticed, at the Magic Kingdom they have a placard on the steps of city hall that informs you which restaurants have seating available for the day. If you aren't going to make ADR's then this should be your first stop for the day. And I am sure that the other parks have a similar system.

Good luck.

I wouldn't risk it myself, esp. with a larger party size & a picky eater. I had trouble booking for our group of 6 & 7 79 days in advance at the more popular eateries at the more popular dining times for Dec. On both trips earlier this year, I saw people turned away on more than one occasion from restaurants filled for the day.

If you were a party of 2, willing to eat anywhere at off times, you might be able to do it - but the days of walking into any of the table service restaurants without reservations are over.

I throught the special dining offer was ending soon. Has it been extended? And if so, until when?
