We are traveling to London in a few days and I was hoping for some packing advice. I've been looking at the weather online (which I am always hesitant to trust) and it looks like it has been in the low 70's. I was wondering if people are wearing crop pants or is it too chilly for them? Also, is it much cooler in the evening? We'll also be taking day trips to the Cotswolds, Bath, and Stonehenge and I was wondering if the weather is pretty consistant throughout the area. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

even though it is off topic, I would post this over at the DLP boards, there are lots of Brits there.

Think layers and things that can mix & match.

Generally when I travel, I bring bottoms in similar colors (ie-navy, khaki) and then all the shirts I bring match all the bottoms, regardless of whether the "bottom" is a pair of pants, capris or shorts. Some short sleeved tops, maybe a couple of long sleeved top and a sweater, and also a jacket.

We were there in June one year and it was cold. We packed both long sleeves and short sleeves but wore the long sleeves mostly.....sweaters & sweatshirts. I'd usually put one of those over a tshirt just to add more warmth.....it was upper 60's when we were there but also windy. Most days were overcast and sometimes a light sprinkle......the dampness probably made me feel cooler than it realy was.

Weather here on the south coast app 65 miles from London is 66f, although feels sightly warmer with a breeze and good amount of sunshine. I would happily wear crop trousers and take shorts incase it gets warmer as London can be warm. Also a light fleece or sweater for evenings is a good idea. Weather around England can vary greatly so if on day trips layers is the way to go.

Looks like the next few days it will get warmer.

Weather from the Metoffice.

Claire ;)

You can wear anything in London. Weather can vary a lot between London and Bath, as we are are an island weather can change quickly as it is brought across the atlantic usually in the Summer. It has been warm with cloud, rain and some clear days. forecast until Tuesday in London highs 73-77 degrees with dry days and lows 54-59 degrees, if you feel the cold then layers if you feel warm then you will be ok perhaps brink a mac or waterproof but check the local forecast before deciding to carry it around all day.

No advice to offer, just say hello to Chuck,Wills and Harry for me(I don't care for Cammi!).

If it were me, I would only take long pants. I think it can get a bit chilly in the evenings, and the longer pants don't feel too warm for me during the day. I suppose it depends on how sensitive you are to cool weather, too. When it's cooler outside, I like to be warm. Have a fun trip!

We were in London this year during the heat wave! It was in the 90's during the day!
In the past it has always been in the low 70's & beautiful this time of year.

Every trip, I end up buying more sweaters while I'm there because I'm freezing--and we usually go in July. :lmao:

The one absolutely essential item to pack on a trip to England is a lightweight, hooded rain coat. It eliminates the need for an umbrella and folds up pretty easily in the suitcase or purse. Odds are good that you WILL need it. Oh, and even if it's sunny when you set off in the morning, take that raincoat with you!
