Trip to Italy

like I said computers don't START at 3000 dollars but when you finally get everything you want on them they can cost about that and sometimes more. And Im not looking for some 'showy' computer, I'm looking for one that wont crash on me 3 times in one year, one that I can easily bring to class and take notes on, one that is light weight because I travel alot and I want one with enough memory for me to do everything on it that I want. So yes I can buy a 1000 dollar computer but when it comes down to the rest of it, it will eventually cost around 3000 dollars. I don't know where ya'll but ya'lls computers but I wouldn't mind shopping there.

I have a desktop (i'm an artist, so i have no need to lug it around with me, but I feel i have more control with everything on a desktop, without a flatscreen monitor-for better color)

You could get a nice dell laptop with a 512 stick of ram, put a couple 56Ks in it, then go from there. that'll make it fast. Keeping all the crap off of it will keep it from crashing. (By crap, i mean all the stuff that comes stock on a windows disk) also, DO NOT USE VISTA. its a ram sucker, and if you're planning well...anything that involves a tablet, it's going to eat your virtual memory.

My tablet cost no more than 50 dollars, and its really good at what i use it for.

There is no reason unless you're a hardcore artist or gamer that you would need to invest 3,000 in a computer, JUST so it runs well. I have an upgraded Compaq that cost 300.00, and i am an artist. ;)

well first of all I am never getting a dell again, because they suck. And I am thinking about getting a tablet because the ones that I have seen work pretty well and I feel like it would be the best kind of computer for me in college especially considering what I am majoring in, and buying a 3,000 dollar computer can be benificial in what I am going to use it for as well. Now buying a 3000 dollar computer to just sit at home all day and surf the internet, thats stupid, but to buy a computer that you will use in classes and for work, thats worth it.

i really dont recommend tablets... they get outdated really quickly and its really hard to update any hardware on them.. id say shoot for a lap top.. and yes.. dell is bad... ive always liked HP the most.. but alienware is the best comp ive ever seen lol
