Trip to Gatlinburg next week...Help!

We got married there and we rented a cabin from Mountain Rentals of Gatlinburg: http://www.mountainchalets.com/ They had the best rates and since we were staying a week, I didn't want a motel. They were very nice as well. I highly reccommend them and we'll use them again next time we go.

I also reccommend the Apple Barn and the Old Mill. The food at both places was soooooo good, but go hungry! There is a restaurant at the end of the strip that we really liked too, with an awesome salad bar. I can't remember the name though.

How can I find out more about ice skating? DS wants to see snow and we are thinking of going for a week next December/January. It would be awesome to get snow (we'll have to cross our fingers) and even better to ice skate!

I think we will be staying in a hotel in Gatlinburg on the Trolley line, so I can have access to transportation while DH is resting(he has heart problems.) I think Dixie Stampede is closed for the season. What is Black Bear jamboree? Is it like Hoop Dee Doo or something? We'd probably like that.

I was going to suggest Dixie Stampede.... It was fabulous. We were there in June of this year and stayed right next door.
The apple Barn is great to eat and The Mill is wonderful!~! The meals are HUGE and you can share (plenty of food- if you each get your own it is TOO much and you will take food home with you!).

There is sooo much to do and it is VERY VERY busy. WE had been there a few years ago (three I think) and were SHOCKED at how busy it had become.

We went to Cherokee and that was a great thing for me. I love history and Native American history especially.

The country is beautiful. we did Ober Gatlinburg this time and we loved it. You could get in free the second day when we went (but we did not take advantage of it) so that made it even less expensive.

Have a great time.

We live near Pigeon Forge and go there often. Of course we Love Disney World and went there in December but it is just too far away to visit often, so we go to Pigeon Forge quiet a bit. We go there so often in fact that I have started a Discussion Forum similar to this one but just for Dollywood, and the Pigeon Forge area. Let me know what you think of it. I am just getting started and do not have much on there yet but am hoping to grow if I can get more people to visit the site. If you have any questions about the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Smoky Mountain area just feel free to ask.

P.S. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cool Tigger! I was wondering how long it would take someone to do a site for Dollywood. I think it is a great idea. I'll check it out sometime and have my mom check it out also.
