Trip Talk!

I'm going for the Tonga Toast I think :D
Oh gosh - now Cindy - I USED To like you, I really did!

Just the THOUGHT of that stuff makes me gag - TOO SWEET!!!! I remember @ the Crystal Palace a long time ago I tried that, and had to drink an entire glass of water after just 1 bite. And even the memory of watching my friend and my ex eat it with SYRUP on it - makes my TEETH hurt!!!

I'm normally not a breakfast person at all. When we go to diners around here for breakfast I always order lunch (yes, I eat reubens at 6am), so we'll see how it goes!

Enjoy, whatever you end up with! :)

We are road-tripping it down for our July Trip

Sat 7/16 we hit Durham, NC for 2 nights.... hitting up Fullsteam and Ponysarus Breweries and the Museum of Life & Science for the kids
Mon 7/18 we get to Savannah, GA for 1 night ... planning to do a historic carriage ride, maybe eat at Paula Dean's restaurant in town and/or Moon River Brewing Company
Tue 7/19 we drive to Deerfield beach where we are staying for 3 nights. Hope to stop by Tequesta brewery on the way down and hit up Funky Buddha Brewing in Ft. lauderdale
Fri 7/22 we make it to Disney - staying offsite at Bonnet Creek for 7 nights
- Fri 7/22: Disney Springs (ADR at Morimoto's) then check in for mega meet and go to Poly for Trader Sam's and watch Wishes from the beach
- Sat 7/23: DHS - ADR at Sci-Fi for Lunch and the Star Wars Galactic Dessert Party at night. Hoping to do dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
- Sun 7/24: Breakfast ADR at Kona and then the scavenger hunt. Then the 4pm Hoop Dee Doo Review
- Mon 7/25: MK day, but no ADRs - then I go to the Megameet podcast at Disney springs, rest of the family stays at MK
- Tue 7/26: AK day, PPO ADR at Tusker House Jungle Book dining package. No other meals set, may do lunch at Sanaa - do want to check the Harambe Market out
- Wed 7/27: EPCOT day. PPO ADR at Akershus then got to Frozen M&G (assuming we can get FP for ride, otherwise go right to ride). Late ADR at Spice Road Table to watch Illuminations from there
- Thurs 7/28: MK Day. Skippers Canteen for lunch and BOG for dinner (current have a CP breakfast but they made the park times earlier so no longer PPO so likely will cancel)
- Fri 7/29: EPCOT - nothing planned - then head to Gainseville for the night
Sat 7/30: Drive to Athens, GA ... hitting up Terripin Brewing (1pm tour) and the Creature Comfort and Copper Creek Breweries
Sun 7/31: Drive to Asheville, NC ... stopping at Oscar Blues Brewery for tour and lunch on the way and then doing 3pm Funkatourium tour at Wicked Weed Brewing
then drive home

So lots of Disney and Breweries only 3 weeks before we leave! Just was able to book the dessert party today!

That sounds like an awesome relaxing trip... have fun.

Sounds good, Pete. I'll allow you to select some snacks around WS for me! :) I don't think I've ever had breakfast @ Garden Grill, just dinner, and that was a LONG time ago. Seriously - enjoy!

Cautiously planning a March trip now that rates have come out. DD may be too cool for a trip with her dad on spring break... but hoping for the best.
Awww.....hope your daughter decides to go - she won't know what sh'es missing until she can't do it, and those could well turn out to be some of her most precious memories! (Gosh - I am getting so SAPPY in my old age!) :)

I have booked for late Sept for 1 1/2 wks at AS Sports w Fall Free Dining. Must be back b/f Cdn Thanksgiving the first weekend in Oct for family reunion. It is still tentative as waiting to see what happens with the Cdn dollar over the summer b/f full payment is due. F&W is the draw but a bit worried about how the Frozen mania and holding masses will impact WS. Never been to AS Sports but my standby POP was not avail for booking when free dining was announced. I have some TS ADRs booked but no luck with BOG Dinner or Ohana b/c FD was released a few wks after the 180 window was open. Am using Touring Plans ADR finder but no luck so far. However, my experience has been that less popular spots like Sanaa (a near signature dining experience) and Marrakesh offer better eats anyway. Fingers crossed that my dollar doesn't tank. If I can will the dollar over 80 cents US than I'm away! ps never been to WDW in Sept so fingers & toes also crossed that it doesn't pour every day, Hurricanes stay out to sea and the humidity doesn't wipe out this little Northerner!

So Jes, you're there from the 24th to the 1st? (I know I've asked this like 4 times already)
Close! 23-30

I'm doing the same for Ohana, but only a 3:30pm has come up at this point

We leave home on 7/15 to drive down. We'll stop for the night somewhere and continue on 7/16 arriving late afternoon/early evening.
Staying 11 nights in a townhouse in Crestwynd Bay, the same house we rented back in January.
We are non-planners so our schedule right now is pretty open except:
7/20 2:30-5:30pm Volunteer at GKTW Village
7/22, 23, 24 Hang out at Boardwalk with the team at least some of that time
7/24: NE DIS meet scavenger hunt then Epcot to have a drink with pjweaver
7/26: BBQ with friends from the NE DIS meet team (not a public event)
7/27: Head for home

No ADRs. No FPs though I do plan to pick one up for Soarin and FEA if I can get one. The problem is I have no idea which day we'll be in which park since we don't plan that in advance.

My other upcoming trip is one I'm actually super excited about.
8/19: Drive up to NYC. Staying 2 nights at the Courtyard Marriott on 5th Avenue
Meet up with the one and only Princess Jes for dinner and a show!
Hang with Jes and her DH on 8/20 as well for as yet undetermined fun in the city.

Maybe you could book FEA and soarin on the mornings of the days you're at the boardwalk because it's a quick walk across and then you can come back to the BW?

Well on 20/8 (8/20) we were planning on finding a sports bar to watch UFC202 because Leigh's favorite wrestler was meant to have his debut in UFC, but that's been moved into September now, so we still have our tickets to WWE NXT that we'll use. Shattered that the CM Punk fight was moved.

First time for us a Garden Grill, I think it just opened a few months ago but it sounds great.

The only countries I don't have good snacks for ar Morocco and Canada.

My sister did garden grill in 2014, so I don't think it opened a few months ago.
I nearly booked that, but the menu at biergarten sounded more appealing to me (schnitzel... Mmmmm)

I should have specified breakfast at garden grill. We've had dinner there in the past and liked it, not loved but liked.

Hope you do get to go, Sam!

Steve - I can't say I blame ya for being excited to meet Jes - please give each other a BIG HUG from me (and Jes - same to Michael from me!) :)

Don't be too hard on 'Ohana at 3:30pm. I did it and treated it as a very late lunch and it worked out well.

I am going September 24 to 27, staying at French Quarter

September 24:
Fly in, get into Orlando at 1:20pm. Going to DHS for a couple hours to ride Tower of Terror and RnRC
Dinner at 1900 Park Fare

September 25:
Animal Kingdom, ride the safari and have a late breakfast at Tusker House, ride Everest and head back to the resort for a rest
Have a snack/appetizer at Skippers and attend MNSSHP

September 26:
Food and Wine with some Frozen fun

September 27:
trying to get either Chef Mickey's or CRT for breakfast, ride an attraction or two before heading back to the resort to wait for the sad ride home.

I plan to be at trader Sam's at 3pm for some cocky-t's, so 3:30pm wouldn't work :(

Biergarten is great fun. If you want a better view of the stage, try to get yourselves in right behind the host that is leading you to your group table. ie try to be the first couple right on his tail going in the big door. Then sit at the chairs furthest in & closest to the railing/stage for best view. Works for me! ps after you check in at the podium, you will be held for a few mins in front of the entrance door. If possible, stand closer to the doors and to the left hand wall directly behind the podium as this is where the host usually starts to organize the table group b/f leading you inside.
