I'm glad I made my decision to stay@Contemporary for our 1st visit to DW. 10/1-10/6. We stayed in the tower 12th floor looking @Cinderlla's castle and Wishes fireworks everynight. My DDs (3 &5) were beside themselves and my DH was impressed too. room was clean and spacious. Day bed was just big enough for my 5yr old. Our 3yr old slept between us on a king. There was a refrigerator, no tub but a high pressure shower. No noise from resturants or construction or monorail. We asked for bedrail and it was delivered immediately. Room Service was prompt and food was hot and good. We ate at Chef Mickeys, Concourse steakhouse and California grill. Chef Mickeys was fun for the kids because the characters( mickey, minnie, chip&dale, goofy,DD) came to your table for pics and autographs. The food was average. The concourse steakhouse had fabulous steaks and breakfast was good. By far the Cali. Grill had the best ambiance and food. The sushi was fresh, good wine list and dessert too. There is even an outside walkway to view the fireworks if you're having dinner there. It was fantastic, you can hear the story being told and the music playing. The dress was definitely more upscale than the other two restaurants. Monorail was definitely a plus, however, the routing goes like this.. Contemporary to Polynesian to TTC to GF to MK then back to Contemp. Therefore, to get to MK in the am, we had to endure 3 stops, but on the way back from MK we were the 1st stop. ( also, ask to sit in the front of the monorail, they'll let you if it's open) We did Cinderlla's royal table for lunch and saw Mary Poppins, sleeping beauty, cinderella, belle, megan from hercules ( my DH thought she was the wicked stepsister from cinderlla and we all laughed about it) food was average. Since our girls are into princesses, we booked the Grand Floridian's princess tea party and let me tell you, it was $ but WORTH IT! You get to hear Rose Petal sing, dance, tell stories. The girls recieved a sleeping beauty doll, bracelet, certificate, crown. Most of them were dressed as some kind of princess. The room was lovely and staff was courteous and attentive. We got to taste some delicous tea sandwiches and desserts and tea of course ( girls get apple tea- "juice")At the end Sleeping Beauty comes and dances with the girls in the room and goes to every table to personally talk to them and take pictures. I've never seen my boisterous girls seem so shy around her, it was pretty cute. We attended Mickey's not so scary halloween party and had a blast.Lots of candies for kids and no wait on most rides and most we waited were 10min. Fireworks were cool and all the characters were out and about. In Epcot, if you want to see Snow White she is between Australia and Germany. Living Seas is under renovation right now. We brought a umbrella stroller and rented one from the park,my DDs switched back and forth and therefore on fighting. But my 5 yr old definitely got tired fast ( it was 89 degrees and humid). My biggest tip for families is to make as many PS for character dining and also dinner because I guarantee you that if you dont have a res. you will be turned away since everything is booked. ( this is considered low season too). Also ship packages like costumes ahead of time and try to send things home so you are not bogged down with more luggage on the way home. :cheer2:

oh! thanks for the report! We are staying at the CR in December with two small kids (1 and 4). Did you take both kids with you to the California Grill? I was hoping to hear opinions on taking kids there.

Thanks!

Oh! BTW,. did you all do the dining plan? We haven't really decided yet whether to do it. I am thinking that we won't.

Also I just thought of something else to ask you... I read that the tea at the GF was for kids only and parents can not go. Were you able to be there with your children?

THANKS!!!

We did take both kids to California Grill. There were other kids there as well. The dress is more formal than Chef mickey's. The menu for kids were fine, however, they did not have chicken nuggets, they had grilled chix breast ( which my kids didnt like). We did not do the dining plan ( didnt want to be restricted). The Grand Floridian tea party is for whoever. you just have to pay for each attendee, (but only children gets the special dolls and crowns, etc) If you have little girls who love princesses, this is really something they'll enjoy! hope this helps
