This was my daughter's first trip to Disney World, she is nearly 10 months. And yes, she is too young to remember it. But she had a wonderful time, and we have it all on tape and pictures. It was a magical experience for DH and I as first time parents. We loved every minute of it!

Now I must say that it was HOT! But thankfully it didn't rain. The heat did slow us down a bit. So mostly we strolled and just took the park in. We liked being relaxed and not feeling like we had to do everything, so it was quite nice.

May 11- Mother's Day! We drove 2 hours from Jacksonville to Orlando. We were supposed to leave Jax by 7am, but we ended up sleeping in. oops! and didn't wake up until 7:30... DD and I were exhausted from our flight to Jax from Chicago just the night before. So we left around 9am. When we go to ORlando we checked into the CR. THe CM's were very nice and helpful. This was our first stay onsite, and we were enjoying it. Of course it's only for one night, but still. It makes a difference! We got a room on the third floor of the NGW through SoG, and we had a lovely view of the lagoon. Perfect for the Water Pageant later that night. We bought our tickets and off we were to Epcot.

We had a 1:30 PS at Teppanyaki, but by this time it was already 1:00 and we didn't wanna rush to Japan. So we just took our time, hopped on the monorail and got to Epcot around 1:20. Never went through this at WDW, but they were checking everyone's bags. Not too much of a hassle though. I was a little upset that I did not get a carnation! I saw so many mothers and non-mothers with carnations. I didn’t see anyone giving them out when we entered the park. Oh well. We were SO hungry, so we headed straight for The Land food court, Sunshine Food Fair (I will leave the detail of what we ate to go to the restaurant boards). After the Land, we did a little bit of FW, Innoventions, Living Seas. We didn’t spend too much time, because we really loved the WS. In WS, we just did a lot of browsing and enjoying the atmosphere as much as possible through the heat. We spent the most time in Japan, browsing through the store there. My DD got a candy from Miyuki the candy artist, and we have it on tape. She was so attentive, and enjoyed it very much! After doing the whole WS, we strolled back to Japan for dinner where we ate at Matsunomo Lounge. No wait at all, just sat down and had a nice meal. We only watched Illuminations for a short time, because DD was scared of the loud noise. We ended up beating the exiting crowds to the monorail to get back to the CR, where we were just in time to see the water pageant. It was a loooong, but absolutely wonderful day!

May 12- We were supposed to eat at ‘Ohanas for the character breakfast, but again it didn’t work out. We were just terribly exhausted from the long day before, and ended up skipping breakfast. We checked out of the CR no problem, then we hit MK about 10am and by this time we were hungry. I told DH I heard great things about Plaza Restaurant, so after browsing the Main Street shops we headed for the restaurants. The food was absolutely wonderful!

After our brunch we took pictures in front of the castle, and just strolled around the park. We did Pirates of the Carribean, Small World and Haunted Mansion. Also watched the Tiki Lounge show, it was alright. The rest of the time we just browsed, rested when we could. The heat wasn’t unbearable, but again it was enough to slow us down especially with the baby. DH and I did baby swap on Space Mountain, but we didn’t really feel like doing many of the rides. We did see parents taking their young ones on some of the kiddie rides, but we didn’t feel that DD was ready for that yet. Although we didn’t do many rides, just being there with DD was an amazing experience for us. By 5:00 we were just tuckered out, and hungry. But didn’t feel like eating at the park. So we left MK and headed back to Jacksonville. It was definitely too short a trip, but it was a very memorable one. Although we didn’t do a lot of things we had an absolutely magical time just being there with our daughter. I know she won’t remember it, but we have tons of pictures and video footage!!! We can’t wait to go back! Will definitely stay onsite next time. After this experience, DH says we'll never stay offsite again. He's got his eyes set on the Poly next time... and he says eventually the GF
:p

I wish I was lucky enough to live that close to WDW, but unfortunately I do not. I live in Chicago w/ my DD, and DH is stationed out in Jacksonville. We were only able to do a quick 2 days at WDW because he was only able to get those days leave. The rest of the week he had duty. We would have liked to stay longer, but unfortunately could not. But thanks for your replies! I really did have time to stop and smell the roses, and it was unlike any other trip I've had there.

Short trip is better than no trip and sounds like you'll have wonderful memories! :)

It sounds like you had a magical time with your DD and DH at WDW! I did read your post on another thread about the ticket snafu at SOG. I can't tell you how upset i am that your DH did not get the military offer of FREE admission instead of an overcharge. Thank you for posting your trip report and please let us know if SOG gives you the refund you deserve.

Thanks for the wonderful report - luv reading them!!!
