We arrived at SSR on Friday morning, and were pleased to find such a gorgeous GV! The decor includes granite countertops, Thomasville furnishings, and some "high tech" extras, like surround sound, motion detectors on the bathroom fans, etc.
The downstairs living area (kitchen, dining, living room) appears smaller than what I'm used to at OKW, however this doesn't detract from the unit (sorry Rich but there's PLENTY of space for diners in the GV unit!). Perhaps it is the same square footage as OKW (was never any good at estimating these kinds of things) but the living room just seems 'cozy'. The upstairs in HUGE - with two rather large bedrooms, each w/their own bath. The hallway could sleep two if you had to (not that anyone would ever do this! lol).
Surprises on this stay: extra boxes of laundry soap cost $1.00/box (don't remember this in the past), some units are missing furniture (my inlaws had a two bedroom unit down the hall, and were missing their chairs for the kitchen eating counter) and the fact that the SSR complex goes on for miles and miles! I didn't realize that this complex would be so large. I'm guessing this is a good thing - but have to admit that it makes me a little nervous when driving around. Am assuming that SSR will have their own bus service within this resort, as I cannot imagine the regular Disney busses making the trek within a reasonable amount of time.
All in all, the resort is stunning, the decor is lovely, and I'm sure many will enjoy the fact that you can walk to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.
