Trip Report: Nikki's BDay Bash Part II!!!

Howdy!

In just one day and 22 hours I'll be on a plane heading to the West Coast for the first time in my life. As some of you know, in December I was blessed with the opportunity to "pick a number" and won a week's stay at the Disneyland Resort from the DIS Unplugged and Dreams Unlimited Travel. I am beyond excited about this trip and thought I'd do a mini-trip report as it happened.

I've always wanted to visit California. The entire Hollywood-esque scene really appeals to me. Because I'm a teacher living on the Jersey Shore, flying out to visit Disneyland was never something I thought I could afford (and probably still can't ). When the show revealed I won, I was driving home from school and my phone started going off the hook. I honestly thought it was going to explode with the amount of text messages and phone calls coming through at once. Nobody would tell me what was going on, but gave some pretty strong hints. When I put two and two together, I nearly crashed on I-287.

I took an amazing trip to WDW two weeks ago. Because of my work schedule, I've never been able to celebrate my birthday at Disney. After a few unexpected life turns, I scheduled the first trip out there once summer break began. A friend suggested I celebrate my 30th birthday (which is early September) and the rest is history. My DLR trip has been affectionately titled "Part II" of the birthday bash.

Flash forward to today. My goal is to get my nails done (how could I go to Cali without getting a fill?) and pack. Tomorrow I have a flattie to make and Nyquil to knock me out so I sleep (I haven't slept since Sunday).

My fabulous friend, Christine (eeyorelvr09), is joining me. I got her hooked on the show and DIS without much convincing. We're beyond excited and can't wait to see our DIS friends out there!

the food was yummy and they had a great view.

Hello all! Checking in. We woke up around 7 and are waiting to go on out Walk in Walts Footsteps tour. We ate our chocolate Mickey rice crispy treat for breakfast and were they yummy and $ saving.

A little background history on me. This is not my first trip to DL. I was born in Newport Beach and lived in Costa Mesa for 3 years before moving to New Jersey. I have had numerous trips when I was younger, but have no recollection. I had the opportunity to go to DL in July 2008, but only spent about 3.5 hrs between Cali Adv and DLP. So it really wasn't a thorough visit. I am very greatful to be here now and a stones throw away from everything. Thank you podcast crew for making this and experience that Nikki & I will never forget.
