Day 3 Part 3!
When I left off I had just taken YDD to see talking Mickey. DH took the other kids to the bathroom.
As we walked out of the gift shop in town hall, YDD found the greatest thing EVER all over the ground!
Mickey confetti!!!! It took quite some time to peel her away without every single piece in her hands.
Mickey was our last fp of the day and since there were EMH later we planned to go back to Fort Wilderness to nap. The little munchkin especially needed said nap. and of course DH was still suffering with a migraine.
When we got back to camp we had lunch, which was light since we had turkey legs in the park. I couldn't find the turkey leg picture last time so here it is now!
The boys had an intense game of battleship.
And we settled Daddy and baby in for a nap.
Now this is when I made one of the biggest mistakes of our whole trip. I should have put on a movie or something for the kids and taken a nap myself. I didn't. Instead, the older kids and I headed for the Meadows pool. I got super confused by the bus because the orange and purple busses were the same bus. There was one part of the bus route closed so the same bus was running both, I guess. I wasn't entirely sure where we were supposed to get off the bus so we rode it all the way over to the Settlement. Then we got off and I realized we weren't in the right place so I asked the bus driver of the bus we just got off how to get to the meadows pool. He laughed and said "I wondered why you didn't get off when I stopped by the meadows.". He said he even waited for us to get off. I was too busy looking around I guess.
So we finally got to the pool. We had a blast of course. Even YDS who is usually freaked out by water, went down the slide!
After swimming we walked through the Meadows Trading post. I was looking for some shoes for YDS since his were falling apart. I was not about to pay the prices they wanted, and he probably wouldn't have worn
Crocs or flip flops so he just had to deal with them till we got home.
When we got to our camp, DH was stirring but YDD was out.
This is about the time we realized that she was allergic to something at the Fort. Look at her poor little face. No idea what. She has this problem a lot and we rarely know what causes it.
But we had ADR's at Chef Mickey's so I had to rouse her and re-do her messy hair. Then we headed to the Settlement to catch a boat to the Contemporary resort. I LOVE all the transportation options at the Fort. We used all of them. We stopped at the store in the settlement and got YDD some Claritin, which her and YDS (he has allergies too) took everyday for the rest of the trip.
I was crazy excited for Chef Mickey's!!! We've never done and character dinning, or anything more than quick service actually. I really liked the idea of characters coming to us instead of having to wait in lines.
So we checked in. And we got our picture.
as soon as we were done with the picture our buzzer buzzed! Our hostess asked us where we were from and for the second time on our trip we met someone from our very town in OH. How crazy is that?! We got sat up on the little terrace bit by the windows. And we immediately headed for the buffet! HUNGRY!!! So much yummy food. DH went first with a couple of kids and got food for YDD as well. I was a little worried that she wouldn't eat but she was more intent on eating than the characters. For example:
She knew Mickey was there, but she had PIZZA! The next hour was full of pigging out and Characters, sort of.
Mickey came right away. And we kept eating. And eating, and eating. Waiting for the others.
It seemed to take the others forever and we were actually done eating by the time anyone else came. finally we saw Donald.
And Goofy.
And then we waited and waited and waited for Minnie. I feel bad for the family next to us, they had been done eating when we got there and they still hadn't seen Minnie.
During the wait I started feeling really run down. I had been up and going since 5am and it was now around 9pm. This is when I was really wishing I had taken that nap earlier.
So Minnie finally came around.
She was worth the wait.
Then we were out of there. Going back to MK. We got a little lost on our way to the Monorail but we made it. The Monorail didn't go straight to MK it went around the lake first. I was so wiped out I barely remember it but I know some kid had a bubble gun and was filling the whole car with bubbles. YDD thought this was awesome. We got to the MK just in time for the Electrical parade. We'd never seen it before and I needed to sit down so we found a spot right by the Barber shop and settled in. That dang parade is sooooo long, and the music is soooo repetitive!!! It didn't help that it stopped in the middle for like 5 minutes.
The kids still loved it. and if I'm honest with myself I did too.
I thought the parade was over when it paused so long in the middle so we got up and walked through the emporium to the other end of main street. We saw the rest of the parade from there. Then everyone cleared out. We found a nice spot on the curb to sit and DH got us some drinks and we planned on staying for the fireworks. then people started filing in front of us. Standing so close there butts were right in our faces. I knew I couldn't stand long enough to watch the fireworks and the kids couldn't see anything anyways so we gave up and went over to Tomorrow Land. We hit up the Laugh Floor. I kid you not I could do the Laugh floor over and over again. I love it!!! Last time we went, ODS got to talk to Mike Wazoski's nephew. He asked ODS what he wanted to do when he grew up. ODS was a little flustered and said he wanted to be a video game TASTER, instead of tester. It was hilarious, and the whole rest of the trip ODS was recognized as the kid who wanted to be a video game taster. We weren't picked for anything this time, but I still love it.
Then we did the People mover.
Weeee and then the Carousel of Progress. We hadn't done the Carousel last time so this was DH's and the kids first time. For some reason they really liked it.

it was barely 11 by this time and we had planned on staying for the EMH that went till 2am. I think the kids could have done it but there was no way I was going to make it. i'm not as young as I used to be.
We talked to a nice couple from Fort Meyer while waiting for the boat back to the Fort. The kids seemed fine but that boat ride did them in. By the time we docked they were dead on their feet. We made it back to camp, a trip to the comfort station for potty and toothbrushing, I managed to get the next days clothes out, and we passed out.
