Sadly no DH, DS, DD or any other D's. And no photos either as I haven't had enough posts to allow me to post UHL's. I may come back and attempt to add them in the future. Shame really. Oh well, on with the report!

Day 3 (Thursday 13th July)

Today we planned to go to the Studios so we had a bit of a lie-in and a late breakfast. Got the big pink bus to the parks and were at the studios for around 9:50. Looked around aimlessly for a park map and had to get one from the Information place. Only later did we realise they were just by the entrance to Studio 1!
I had pretty much planned the day out as Studios revolves around it’s shows which are only on at certain times. We decided to stand and wait for the parade and looked for the parade route in the map. We stood by the Aerosmith ride and waited. And waited. It was supposed to start at 10:15 but by 10:40 we’d given up. Off we went to join the queue for the 11am Moteurs, Stunt….Action! show. Got a very good seat at the centre of the seating and waited for the show to start. The assistant director appeared and introduced the show. He said he was looking for another stunt driver for the day and everyone had to make lots of noise – and they did. Everyone then went quiet and he asked, “So who wants to be a stunt driver.” There was a beat of silence then my sister pipped up “I’ll do it” And she was picked. Everyone must have still been asleep as she was the only one who said anything. It was highly amusing to watch as she had to do an impression of a car and everything!!
It did mean that we got to sit in the special director’s chairs at the front for the show. She did her little turn on stage and got a certificate at the end. And newfound fame from people watching the show. Everyone was giving her thumbs up at the end.
Reading the map the sister noticed that Donald was in the front lot soon and she was determined to meet him. So we sat and waited for ages and 15 minutes after they were supposed to appear, Donald, Chip n Dale, Stitch and Pluto were in the front lot. The sister got photos with Donald and Pluto and I got an amusing photo of Pluto hiding behind a plant!
We had 45 minutes to kill before the Movie parade so we decided to go on Armageddon. I don’t know if it was because it was quite full but I was not very impressed by this ride/show thingy. It was a bit of an anticlimax after other people said it was really impressive. I might try it again when the park is quieter in the low season so they’ll be less people in the ride.
We then got our positions for the movie parade, outside Aerosmith and waited (again) for ages after the start time. It started 20 minutes after it was supposed to (do they ever run to time in the studios?) but it was enjoyable and we had an impromptu photo opportunity at the end.
The only annoying thing is a guy pushed in with his daughter on his shoulders (though we were right at the front so she could have just stood there) so we and everyone right of us could not see the floats clearly until they were right in front of us.
I’d heard that both Animagique and Cinemagique were enjoyable so we decided to head for whichever started first. Animagique had a shorter queue so we went there. I loved the little sign that the cast member used to show no photos. She just pointed to it and shook her head. It was really funny but it got the message across. I loved this show and wish I went back to see it again. We were clapping along though I had to tell the sister to stop singing. Very enjoyable and really clever.
By this time it was 3pm and we were starving. We had tried to book a table at Annette’s for dinner but apparently you can’t book tables there. We decided to have lunch there instead. It didn’t have the atmosphere that you get on an evening but we did have a very attentive hostess and our food was really quick to arrive. We both had burgers and fries and I made a vow to attempt the mega burger thing that apparently is impossible on my next visit. Desert was sundaes as we both felt too full to try the Elvis desert that sounded delicious. We meant to go back another day and have it but we forgot!
We made it back to the studios in time for the next Cinemagique show. I’d heard about the ‘surprise’ and told my sister to expect one! I enjoyed this show and spent hours trying to guess where I’d seen “George” before (I realised later that it was in the film “Get Over it”) It was cleverly done and was difficult to spot where the films were and the travellers had been put in. I enjoyed trying to name the films as it went along. And I loved seeing the Monty Python rabbits in there. I laughed hysterically.
We didn’t have much time left and my sister wanted to go on the tram tour so we didn’t have time to do the Art of Animation presentation. I did remember that last time we didn’t have the chance to try the activities at the end last time so we went and did them. The acting & singing one had been left in Dutch so we had to guess what it wanted us to do before we could attempt it in English. Lots of fun.
We then wandered to the Studio Tram tour. Word of advice. Attempt this at the end of the day as we waited 5 minutes for this – which included waiting for the tram to unload and load. It’s a nice ride and my sister sat on the left – and got soaked!! I was impressed to see the Narnia costumes (I love narnia) and wish I had time to go round again and sit on the left to get a good view. Sadly it was kicking out time and a wonderful announcement made telling us it was now closed. I didn’t believe I could spend a whole day in the studios but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Since it was only 6pm we decided to head over to Disneyland. We planned to be there for rope drop tomorrow so I thought we should head down Liberty Arcade and find the second route into Frontierland. I can’t believe I never noticed it before. We planned our exact route to BTM but decided not to go on as the queue was really long. We went on POTC and headed to the Fantasyland Railroad to take the train to Discoveryland. Went on Buzz again (60800) then it was time to leave the park (another wonderful announcement). As we had lunch so late neither of us were hungry so we grabbed a drink from McDonalds and decided to attempt to walk back to the hotel in preparation for tomorrow night. After a false start which saw us walk the wrong way around Lake Disney (we were down by the Newport Bay Hotel) we found our direction and walked back. Someone’s comment of walking through Santa Fe car park suddenly made perfect sense. It was a very pleasant walk and it took around 40 minutes (including our false start). Several buses went past us but they were all really full and we were grateful for not having to be on them.
Got back to our hotel and noticed that two more buses had appeared (bringing the total to 5) but one was from near us. We went back to our room and were highly upset. The cleaners had been in to clean our room (despite the do not disturb on the door) and had taken my towels. The whole reason we left the sign on was because my towels were white and we knew that they would get confused. Reception seemed to find it all amusing and didn’t seem to care too much. I was really annoyed as they weren’t cheap towels and it was more annoying as the cleaners completely ignored the sign. Was not very impressed with the hotel after that.

OP, go post some posts on the "boost your post" threads on the community board... then at least we'll get to see your pictures!

We decided to stand and wait for the parade and looked for the parade route in the map. We stood by the Aerosmith ride and waited. And waited. It was supposed to start at 10:15 but by 10:40 we’d given up.

If it's the little morning parade you were waiting on: that one doesn't come all the way up to RnRC. they start at the Flying Carpets, and go more or less until the Tower of Terror (don't know what the place is called, they also stage some shows there).

GReat trip report ,staying at the kyriad next week , I haven,t got any white towels so i should be ok ,did you get them back ,breakfeast sounds ok ,Ive never dared to take things for sanwhichs before but i might try to sneak some out this time ,we are going to stay for wishes so it will be late for walking back but if the buses are really bad do you think it would be better (4 days and counting) :Pinkbounc

What a lovely day you had. :goodvibes
I was a bit disappointed with Armageddon too. After all the build up, I thought "Is this all????" but when I rode it on another trip I knew not to expect too much and it seemed a bit more fun. Does that make sense???? :confused3 :rotfl:

Did you ever get your towels back?

Great - shows it can be done!! :thumbsup2

Thoroughly enjoying your report :)

It is very simple you don't even need to register or something! Just give it a try we would love to see your pictures! :cheer2:

I did set up photobucket but for some strange reason the boards do not like me putting any links up. It says "Your Post contains one or more URLs, The DIS requires a minimum number of posts before allowing the posting of URL's". I just need to talk more I think!!!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one!! I am going to try it again when it's not so busy as I think half the problem was that it was very packed and you couldn't see all the special effects. :3dglasses

No I never got my towels back. But I will post the final bit eventually (I have 4 and 5 just sat here to post!

Just a couple more posts should do it :)

Great Trip Report - thanks for posting.

Reguarding the timings, the Good Morning Walt Disney Studios parade runs from Cinemagique to Production Courtyard Stage then back down the other side of Cinemagique.

As for the Cinema Parade,it would of started at the time stated in the maps, but as you were watching at the end of the route, it takes 20 mins for it to arrive at this part after it has made its way through the park including 4 stops on the route.

Maybe it did. But it was strange that 10 minutes after it was due to start, the loudspeakers made the announcement that it would start in 10 minutes. I don't know if this was only announced where I was stood, if so, then that makes sense!!
