My trip was from March 3-10, and I know it's been quite some time but after I got back I had mid terms and been so busy (I'm a college student).

Anyhow, it was my boyfriend's first vacation to Florida and WDW. However, it was my 4th time so I was so excited to show him everything and see how much he'd enjoy it! We had 4 day PHplus tix.

March 3 we get there, it was a Saturday and the weather was beautiful. My boyfriend was in awe of palm trees!hehehe. But the flight made us both nauseous (he was also a first time flyer) and we were so tired. By the time we got to our hotel Howard Johnson Maingate West we were so tired we unpacked, watched some tv, ordered pizza and fell asleep. A quiet and simple night.

Sunday was terrible! It was a thunderstorm, it rained and poured all day, lightening, thunder, the works! Our hotel was not near walking distance to many things, so we couldn't really have a nice dinner without taking a cab somewhere. So once again, we sat in the hotel for the day. We got our planning done and stuff. It may sound like a waste of a day, but in actuality we were just happy to be away from the freakish cold weather in Chicago! and just happy to be in each other's company (he's leaving for the military soon). We went swimming when the weather cleared up, and that was nice.

Monday! Hit the parks at like 10 am, yay! MGM studios was our first park. Unfortunately it was really windy that day and rather cool, but no big deal for us. We ate some pizza in the little grove area by Tower of Terror. We got some FP's for Tower of Terror, and the wait was only about 5-10 min. I heard they added more drops since the last time I went, and boy I sure felt each one of them! It was fun! Too bad the BF didn't feel that way, it gave him a headache =( So we couldn't ride the RockinRollercoaster, which was ok because I think it gave ME a headache last time =) Still it would have been nice to ride. I had wanted to see Beauty and the Beast, but nope it's being refurbished for our enjoyment or something. So we couldn't enjoy that. From there we went to the Indiana Jones Stunt show (yes I did pull the Do (not) pull thing, hehe!) and got like 3rd row seats. the BF loved it!!! even the 4th time seeing it, it was great as always. Then we watched the Mulan parade (it must be shorter at this time of the year) and that was quite nice. WE did the Great American Movie Ride, and he enjoyed that especially the part where the gangster guy took over. Afterwards we milled around MGM,looking at stuff, shopping... we then watched the Muppet 3d show, and even though I'd also already seen that too it was still fun! He liked it too! Then we walked around a bit more, down New York... we stopped and took a picture with Winnie the Pooh by his trailer, and hit the animation Tour, which was very interesting...(I cried when they showed the clip of Dumbo...gets me every time!). I wanted to stay and watch Fantasmic, but the BF said we should do it another day. It might have been cancelled, the wind was pretty strong that day but who knows. The great part was when we left, my boyfriend and I bought this Baby Pooh. I had bought this one for him before but his dog ate the nose off (the nerve!!!). So we got another one, it's the CUTEST THING! funny thing is he loves it more than I do, and throughout the trip Baby Pooh became his best friend (next to me of course =P) We went to Epcot after that, and milled around there... we played games for a bit in Innovations, and then we caught the shuttle back to our hotel, ate at this ACE buffet place... don't ever eat there, it was terrible food. But it we found some decent food to satisfy us for the night. And of course, we were knocked out and down for the count at bedtime...whoo! all that walking wears you down so much!

Tuesday, we wake up to find the weather still a bit cool but clear and sunny. We decided to continue our fun at Epcot. We got there around 11 am. We toured Innovations again, did the Living Seas, and Spaceship Earth, did some shopping... WE had lunch in the Land, it was lunch time and there's nowhere to sit but finally we found a quiet little corner. We were both rather anxious to go to the World Showcase, so after a while we went on our way to the WS, and started at Mexico. did the boat ride, which I don't find quite exciting but relaxing. My BF bought a little pinata for his beloved dog. We explored Norway a bit, didn't ride the boat b/c the line was ridiculous. thought we'd revisit later. We spent a good deal of time in China, shopping and just exploring the shops. We took some pictures in Italy by that sculpture/fountain. Japan was our favorite, we spent a great deal of time in that department store. We watched the drum show, which my BF thought was delightful. We watched this japanese lady make animals out of rice candy...but we couldn't get one made =( I wanted to eat dinner in japan, but we still weren't done, and the BF wanted to go to Mexico to eat. Finally we finished the WS. We sat for a while in the UK listening to some Beatles-like band play some good tunes, and headed our way all the way around to Mexico for dinner. We didn't have priority seating, but the wait was about 15 minutes. I had some fish, and he had some steak. Honestly the food wasn't all that great but the ambiance was pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves. Then we watched Tapestry of Nations at 8, which was cancelled earlier at 6 b/c of the wind. It was ok, I didn't find it that impressive. But it was nice =) We found ourselves seats, near where all the little stores are in the middle to watch Illuminations. My BF loved the fireworks display, and of course it left you with such a great and magical feeling after it was over :) Just a note, it got so cold that night! I was wearing a shirt, a sweater, and a jacket and I was still shivering! Anyways, we caught the shuttle back to our hotel again, and reflected on our day. Epcot was so far his favorite, he told me. I went to sleep thinking about the look of enjoyment and the smile on his face going through MGM and Epcot... It was seeing a kid's face light up :D Moments like those make everything so worthwhile...

I have more to tell but the hour is late and I'm getting sleepy...

I PROMISE to finish this report this week, so please stay tuned :D

It must have been great to show someone around who has never been there before! Thanks for Posting!

thanks for posting. I loved taking my DH the first time and watching the reactions on his face. He never understood my love of Disney, but on about the third day as we were watching the MK parade with my niece - he finally looked at me and said "I get it!"

Sounds like your trip is off to a good start. Thanks for posting!

It sounds like you had a great time. I am taking my BF in 10 days!!!!!! Can't wait. He hasn't been there since the 80's and doesn't really remember much. Almost like never being there......before he met me he didn't really care about DIsney either way. I doubt if he ever thought about it....I can't wait to see his reactions, he's such a big kid at heart....

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip!!!

I am taking my fiance for his first time in two weeks:)

He just doesn't understand what all the fuss is about and how I can spend hours reading these boards and planning the trip. I plan on going to the MK on our first day for the sole purpose of watching his face as we see the castle and mainstreet USA for the first time. I can't wait!

BTW, he is also a first-time flyer, and is extremely nervous about it. Hopefully, once we get there he will relax.

Thanks for the great trip report, can't wait to read the rest:p :p :p

Thanks for posting! Looking forward to the rest! I took my boyfriend to WDW for the first time 2 1/2 years ago, and now we're heading for our 5th trip!! He loves it!

Beth :)

Only 9 more days!
