Enjoyed the report! Glad you had a great time.
When and where did "Catman" perform? We have early seating, but I think my DD5 would enjoy seeing the "performing kitties".
Also, when was the Castaway Club reception?
Thanx for your help.
As usual ...an awesome report. It really does feel like we are there with you, and having just come back ourselves from a Magic cruise, even more so! Looking forward to our Western cruise in 2004!
Yes, we will be sailing on 5/24
We are giving up our October cruise on the Wonder, but I am dying to do the Western again because we had such a blast. It's a hard choice, but we'll still have six more on the Wonder, so I guess I can give up one. Between missing Grand Cayman and not getting to try the new menus, it wasn't hard to convince hubby either.
The Castaway Club reception was on the first sea day. We were running late because we had high tea right beforehand, and I think the reception began at 4 (high tea is 3:30).
The Catman performs a little before sunset. You go through Mallory Square to find him, but he is actually near the ships (he was almost right below the Magic's bow). Many performers have areas staked out around there. Get there early to get a good view. I don't think there is any set time...just sunset-ish. We were very lucky that our timing was perfect.

One thing I really liked about him is how well cared for the cats appeared to be. I won't go to circuses because I don't like the thoughts of the animals being kept so confined, and the Animal Kingdom has ruined me for going to zoos. But these cats were so affectionate towards him that it was obvious he doesn't train them abusively (besides, if you know cats, you know that you can't force them into anyway!). He would toss them huge hunks of chicken breast as rewards, and one of the cats would catch it mid-air. One of them hung right on his chest as he walked around. After the show, I was amazed that he could leave their carriers open and they wouldn't run away. People were petting them, and they were absolutely soaking up the attention. I hope you'll get to see his show some time, Michelle. He is absolutely crazy (you'll see what I mean if you ever see it), but I guess you'd have to be to train cats. It reminds me of that old Super Bowl commercial with the cat herders.
And if anyone is interested, he has a website at: www.catmankeywest.com
