Hello, again! Once more, we visited both parks, this time on Super Bowl Sunday. At the start, it was me, my sister, my mom, and aunt and uncle. A co-worker told me DL shouldn't be crowded that day. When he went, it was practically a ghost town. However, he went the year Star Tours first opened! I blinked and went, "But, that was 1987!" There was not that much happening, such as, oh, a 50th celebration! So, I went up there not expecting it to be that much of a ghost town. In fact, it was the exact opposite!

I won't get into full detail of every little thing, just some highlights. Oh, but here's something funny. After my co-worker mentioned Star Tours, that ended up being the first attraction we rode when we arrived! I knew it was bad when the line went through that additional side room and zig-zagged around. Afterward at around 11:30 a.m., my sister and I bolted off to snatch a Fast Pass for Space Mountain. The return time said 2:20-3:20 and I knew if we didn't get it then, we wouldn't get to ride it!

I'll have to admit the idea of the Fast Pass is wonderful. For example: my sister and I could get a second Fast Pass after 1:15 p.m while still holding our SM ones. We entered Frontierland to discover Big Thunder Mountain Railroad had a very long line in stand-by. After 1:15, we could get Fast Passes to return at 2:00-3:00. Not bad at all. While waiting for 2:00, we did shopping in the Frontierland shops or stood to watch Woody pose for pictures. My mom and aunt got Fast Passes for BTMR, too, but decided to give them away to a mother and daughter. My sister and I and our uncle went on it and had a good time as usual! It was then off to SM which only took ten minutes to board, thanks to our Fast Passes.

As we headed to DCA around 2:40, my sister met up with her 17 year-old friend Katie, a girl she went to a comic convention with recently. My sister dresses as the 60's Catwoman with a whole ensemble and this convention had several of the original actors such as Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar. Katie came dressed as Batgirl. All the costumes looked great. Katie was sitting on the curb in Main Street with her friend, Jenna. They were waiting for the Parade of Dreams to start. We told them we might see them later for dinner with our friend Wally (the one in Studio City) unless the plans change.

Once we hit DCA, it came clear that we weren't going to do very many attractions. Or, I should say, none at all. Soarin' was a 60-minute wait and the area of the entrance to the Hollywood Pictures Backlot looked insane. We ended up getting ice cream at the Bur-r-r-rbank place and then leaving! Mom actually went home with our aunt and uncle while my sister and I returned to DL to find Katie and Jenna.

At around 4, we discovered they were both in the "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" show. We got in line for the Fantasyland side of the Matterhorn and it took us 25-30 minutes to get to the front. We somehow timed it good because once we got to the boarding area, my sister called Katie to see if the show was over and we waited in hopes they could run over and ride with us! Not too long after, we saw them running up to meet us. The CM let them through to sit in the same bobsled with us! It was so awesome.

Later on, we walked through Frontierland and onward to New Orleans Square to check the line for POTC. It was a 15 minute wait, so we got in the line. The line did that zig-zagging alongside the POTC building, or near the Tarzan Treehouse. I hate going back there. I don't know if anyone notices this, but it smells like a cess pool leakage, or some horrible sewer odor!

After POTC, we jumped in line for Splash Mountain. Don't ask me why; they wanted to stay even though the line started in view of the final drop! It was 5:43 on my watch and then 6:28 when we boarded. Yeah, we're nuts. To make matters worse, I was placed in the VERY front of the log! The picture came out so hilarious, I had to buy a copy. Here's how it looks:

That's me in the front, then Katie, then my sister, and then Jenna. We teased my sister and Jenna when they put on their POTC hoods, saying they looked like Jawas. The laugh was more on me when I got wet the worst!

We left the park afterward and the two girls followed my sister and I up to Studio City to have dinner with Wally. He took us to a nice Italian restaurant called Georgie's. On the way home, we hit a terrible fog bank on the 5 South and I somehow took a wrong ramp thinking it was the Carpool lane. The ramp took me over to 91 East where I majorly flipped out! The fog continued to get worse and I was getting nervous. My sister assured me there was a junction to the 15 South that would bring us home. Sure enough, I found the exit and went through areas like Fallbrook and Temecula. That highway is very dark at night and I hope I never make that mistake again!

We got home around 12:55 a.m. and crashed right away. Yup. It was yet another fun adventure up at the Happiest Place on Earth!

great picture! When i wear my hood up my DH always says I look like the unabomber!
