12/20- We were planning on getting there early, what a dream. Thank goodness we only live a short distance or we would have lost a whole day. I had orders to finish for my replica football jersey business I have on the internet and pulled an all-nighter to get it done. We still didn't leave until 11ish but we made good time. We got everything set up, got the golf cart in order and headed to WalMart to get some groceries. When we got back, we had enough time to got to MK and renew DS4's annual pass and catch some rides before the last of the VMCP at 7. The park was crowded, however, we got to ride most of what we wanted in the short time we were there. Obviously we didn't ride the roller coasters, but the continuous rides were fine to get on and off. We had to ride the monorail a couple of times around for DS4 and then went back and rode around and looked at lights at the sites.

12/21- We went back to the MK because we figured that with Christmas coming and the bowl game crowds on their way, this was the best time to go. We stayed for a good while until DS4 got grumpy and needed a nap. We didn't really have to wait too long for any ride and used fast passes to ride the most popular ones. I think we waited 30 min at the most. When we came back, my mickey globe was smashed on the ground from the wind that came about shortly after we left. I was heartbroken, however, I now have another project to do while school is out for the break. Whoohoo! We met BamaEd, who rode by with his son on bicycles. A very nice guy and polite son that one is! He got his "Roll Tides" in, however, I think I forgot to clean the earwax out that day because it was muffled! ;) Ed also informed us that we missed Stacktester, but we will get together soon, I know. We also met TiggerinBama, who came riding up on her golf cart. I have never felt so special! Kelly is such a trip and I sure hope she won the decorating contest. Her family had been working on that site for 3 solid days. The last I saw of them was when they had to go back to Walmart, again, for more extension cords. I have never seen so many wires. Her little tent was so cute with all the hidden mickeys inside. My DS4 had such a blast! We then rushed over to MGM to see and videotape the Dancing Lights. DS4 had crashed by now, but I did videotape it for his viewing pleasure at a later date.:)

12/22- We decided to try to hit DD early so we could get a little shopping done and then head to EPCOT. It was packed to the gills and I accomplished little. We did find out that the Art of Disney will print (I didn't know this before) replicas of old posters that were in the MK. We got DS4 a print of the peoplemover poster that used to be in Tomorrowland. You know, the light blue one. Anyway, he must ride that first when we go to the MK, so I am bartering with the local framer to get it framed for his room. She needs embroidery, I need framing. Works fine for me and her.;) We then went to EPCOT to ride Spaceship Earth. I have to say, just like with the Haunted Mansion, is vastly improved. I enjoyed all the extras they have added and the part at the end with the interactive screens makes all the difference. I am glad we went at night too, because the word is out for the soft opening (official opening is Feb 08) and there was a substantial wait during the day. Even at night, we still were there 30 min minimum, but it is a constant motion, so it really wasn't that bad. We got back and introduced ourselves to LarryJ, but didn't stay long because we had a exhausted DS4 and him and his wife were baking a cake. Hopefully we can visit longer next time.

12/23- Check out day. We always like to go to EPCOT on checkout day because they have RV parking and it is easy to get in and out of there for a day trip. EPCOT was crowded and we waited a while to ride NEMO for DS4. We got there around 12 and all the fast passes for Test Track and Soarin were gone. We did a couple of things for DS4, ate lunch at a counter service place, but ate across the way from there because I didn't want to fight all the people with my monster stroller. We then took a tour of the countries, and stopped by to listen to the Voices of Liberty. Man, as a musician, it still gives me chills to listen to the sweet harmonies under that dome. DS4 even sat still through the 10 minutes. I could listen to them all day long. Can't say that we did much more than that. We left early and got home at a decent hour for a change. We will be going back in Feb. and for the Grand Gathering in July. We did stop by and introduce ourselves to LarryJ, but didn't stay long because we had an almost passed-out DS4 and him and his wife were baking a cake. Hopefully we can visit longer next time.

Nice report Jen. Glad you all had a good time. I would've saved the ears from your globe. DD knocked our's over in the garage and the big bulb cracked so I'm going to take the smaller one's off and re-use them. Glad I know how to cut the holes now.

BamaEd is a real nice guy as is his family. I've met him twice now and enjoyed both visits. We met TiggerinBama back in July and saw her again as well. She told me about the contest.

Epcot was just too cool this trip. I enjoyed the choir and fireworks. I'm looking for an excuse Jen to come back lol. It's just gotta be value season.

Yeah, on second thought, I should have kept the little ones, but I doubt I could have gotten them off with all the super glue I used and clear sealer. DS4 had broken the little globes off a couple of times, so I decided that something close to Boat Life (5200) would be appropriate for them not to come off again.

I know what you mean about value season. I paid 90 bucks plus tax a night for a full hook-up. Quite ridiculous. I will be staying earlier in Dec. this coming year. That was just too much, even though I had budgeted it. It still hurt my little wallet.

who the heck bakes a cake while camping?

Too bad we didn't plan ahead. We could have met you too. We were in loop 300 from 12/20-12/24. I met long term "residents" Mr. Howard and Mr. McMahon (301 & 302). Both very nice.

We spent our days and evenings in the parks though, Sat.-MGM, Sun.-MK, and Mon.-AK. It was too short of a trip for the seven hour drive, but better than no Christmas at Disney and better than the crowds that will be there this week.

P.S. War Eagle Jen!

Looks like you had a great time! Sorry we missed each other. It seems that you were coming just as we were going. So sad to go.....

AuburnJen92,

it was great to come by and meet you and all the other Disboarders (Stack and TiggerinBama). I didn't know others were there (I think I saw PolyPixie's pop-up on the last spot in 1500 loop up near the main road but no one was there whenever I went by). Good luck with the Grand Gathering on July 4. We can't make it but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Roll TIDE! :cool1:

I certainly don't, but if you are LarryJ and are staying for 40 days in FW, I think you might have time...

I'm not that talented in the RV for baking. I might burn something other than the cake!:lmao:

Bama ED

It is nice to know that there are cool Bama fans in this world. My DH even agrees, and it is very hard to get that Birmingham native to say anything nice about Bama. I grew up here in FL, so my feelings sway a bit more towards reptiles, except Gatordad, of course.;) Have a great new year Ed! Stay cool!:cool2:

who the heck bakes a cake while camping?

That be us  . We've even cooked a 10lb turkey for Thanksgiving with all the fixings and sides in our other trailer while dry camping ... this oven is only a 3 burner 17 inch and we surely miss our larger 4 burner even now that was in our old trailer. This time we're making a chocolate cream pie with whipped cream for DS and cooking a 5lb prime rib roast for New Years. We've already had NY strip steaks and lamb chops are on the menu in a couple of weeks. DW was going to also make a spice cake for breakfast, but now will do a Mac run when I pick DS up at his hotel on the 30th since it's on the way.

Don't they make cookbooks with a lot of pictures for Auburn Grads?

No dear, you are mixing it up with the official Gator cookbooks for all graduates. You get them at Walmart and they have pictures instead of words for all the recipes. There is even an audio CD for those who can't handle that level of sophistication. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

There is a show on Food Network called "How to Boil Water" ~Gator may want to check that out!

No, no no, you confuse us with the Bama people. We are usually the manager type folks! ;) :lmao:

Jen, we did not win the decorating contest...The guy on 1639 with all the lights and someone on 734 with a bunch of Disney plush toys and things like that won...Can't post pictures because I do not have enough posts to allow me to post pictures.

Bet you don't lose any weight while camping! Good grief!

As for Auburn and University of Florida grads, at Texas we didn't make them take the remedial reading classes -- just common courtesy and not based on academic achievement at those two fine institutions.
