I am planning my first trip to Universal and IOA with my DD 15, and DS 12/10. What attractions must we get to in order to experience the best ever trip to Universal. I will be purchasing the 2 day + 2 park passes with 3 free days. We will arrive on the 30th, but will not arrive in time to visit the parks. So we will rest up b/c I am driving from Kentucky, and gear up for the parks. We are open to any suggestions for our first trip. Unfortunately, we are staying off-site at the Springhill by Marriott, but it is close enough to the parks. :hourglass :teeth: :woohoo:  :sunny: :rotfl2:

Hurricane season for 2006 is from June 1 to November 30. Hurricanes can form before or after the official dates, although it is rare.

You are most definitely coming right in the middle of hurricane season! Bring rain ponchos from the dollar store because it frequently rains in Orlando, but seldom for the whole day. Lots of attractions are inside at US, so do that park if it is raining. There is enough warning to evacuate if a hurricane is coming, so I would not worry too much. I would worry about being able to buy gas since you are driving, in the event of a hurricane. Evacuees buy gas to get out of town, and those riding it out, to store for generators. Hope you can make your plans a little bit flexible. We go to Orlando almost every October, toward the end of hurricane season, still a bit of a risk! But we love the crowd sizes then. You will be there during Labor Day, so the parks will definetly be busier that weekend. They will clear out the day after.
