It is a great and amazing word! I've really had trouble with my white blood cells. They would drop so low every three weeks that I would have to postpone chemo for a week so they could go up. My oncologist kept threatening to hospitalize me even though there was nothing that could be done about it on my part. I stayed away from crowds and strangers and when someone in my house was sick, they wore a mask or stayed in their bedroom. Ever since then I suffer from colds several times a month when they go low.

But now:: NORMAL!!!!! First time since I was diagnosed.

This is a picture of the fountain at The Point in downtown Pittsburgh. They color it PINK for the breast cancer run every year!! SOOOO COOL!!

My best friend does the run every year with my name on her back!!

That fountain is cool.

Aren't BFF's great?

BFF's are so super. I've known mine since we were three years old. We had a year of not speaking when we were seniors in high school, but other than that hormonal angst, we've been as close as sisters for that long. And the coolest thing is we are very opposite from each other; music tastes, opinions, television, art, just about everything. I'm loud and outgoing (who me??:lmao: ) and she's shy and quiet. And while she lives home in Pittsburgh and I live here, we still managed to keep our friendship just as strong as it ever was.

I was thinking about what you said about celebrating. It's true, we should all celebrate everything, from the small moments to the huge. I really learned that during treatment. When I was finished with my radiation (every single day except weekends for seven weeks! :scared1: until I had nearly second degree burns) my wonderful nurses turned on a bubble machine at the end of the walk from the radiation chamber. It was amazing and I know that some people just walk out and are glad to have it over, but I danced in those bubbles without feeling at all self-conscious. It was great! :dance3: I've learned to celebrate everything! In fact, I just made a homemade apple pie (the crust is NOT mine!! :lmao: ) to celebrate Thursday!!

Oh and the oven steak that I made came out absolutely yummy!! I got Steak House brand from the ever popular Wal Mart. I was talking to the representative from that company and she told me they are marinated before they are packaged. They are super delicious!!

I love your "dancing through the bubbles" story! How cool that the nurses did that. I would have been dancing, too.

I have to tell you a story about celebrating. My family rarely celebrated anything when I was growing up. Sure, there were birthday's & such, but no full blown PARTIES. DH's family is/was like that, too. So I am just the opposite. When DH's parents were approaching their 40th wedding anniversary, I REALLY wanted to have a party. Not just a little BBQ, like they'd always done, but a big to-do. No one else wanted to. They all said, "Let's wait & do it at the 50th anniversary." Well, DMIL was in poor health at the time. (You can see where this is going, right?) I told DH (privately, of course) that I was afraid his DM wouldn't make it to the 50th & we should celebrate NOW. He knew this, too. Well, of course, DMIL died 4 years ago. She & DFIL would have had their 50th wedding anniversary this past May. I am do bummed we didn't do that party. :guilty:

So, here's everyone's PSA for the day, CELEBRATE WHEN YOU CAN!!! You won't regret it! party:

Have a great weekend, everyone! :wave2:

Thanks for sharing that story, Barb! So sad and so true. You can't wait to celebrate or to say the things that need to be said; we just never know what's going to happen tomorrow (or today!).

Here I am with my BFF!!!

Wow! You're going to be there Christmas day and NYE! That is so exciting. I've always wanted to go at that time. :cheer2: I'm excited for you. How many kids do you have and what ages are they? And a surprise! :cool2: That is so cool. I never did that with DD but I wish I had!!

More planning coming up!!! :thumbsup2

Only 125 days, Mom!! :yay: Which ALSO means 25 days until we're in the double-digits! :woohoo:

Thanks everybody for reading; I love reading all of your comments with my great Mom, you're all so lovely! :grouphug:

Today would have been my Dad's 88th birthday! He's not here, but he's here with me, you know what I mean? I can always feel him with me and that makes me happy and miss him less. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday, Daddy!! :lovestruc

I also would have been married 24 years today, if I was still married. Happily, very, very happily I'm not (!!!), but how time flies, right? How could I possibly be old enough to be married that long when I feel 16 most of the time?? :rotfl:

DAY TEN

I'm really excited about this day! Sad, because it is so close to the end, but so happy because, as a foodie, we have designated this day for two table service meals! And at Epcot, yummmmy!!!

I'm sure we are doing opening to closing! DD knows all the days off by heart, but not me. Just to find out where we are going, I have to open my documents and check out my planning list! And I have no idea when EMH falls, but we are around the clock girls!

For lunch we are going to Rose & Crown in the UK. I'm so excited about this meal! The menu looks great and the food porn for this place looks super yummy! Every time I've ever been to the UK here, I always say how good the fish and chips smells, but have never gotten it. This is exciting!

For dinner we were at first doing Chefs. But now we are doing Tutto Italia! Also yum menu and food porn! I hear this place is closing so it's good to get it in! I love Italian food and love preparing it, but I really need to learn to make my own sauce. If anyone has a great recipe for sauce, send it to me!

This picture is from my favorite day in Disney, out of all the day's we've ever been there. DD was four and she was Roger Rabbit crazy! We had searched for him all over and it was our last day. We were leaving the MK and my Mom spotted him on his way back to wherever character's rest between meeting children! She shouted out his name and the wrangler said he had to go in, but my Mom, being the loving Granny, told her we had searched for him and we were going home and our hearts would be broken! Roger Rabbit came over and hugged DD for the longest time. It was incredible!! Disney Magic! :cloud9:

Hi Skygirl! I love the Roger Rabbit photo! It was so nice that the character thought of your daughters heart and yours! Disney magic!
And yay! for your normal blood count! That is a good deal right there! :cool1:

Hi DisneyDusted! It was such a magical moment at Disney. My Mom and I were just talking about how wonderful it was.

Thanks, having a normal blood count for me has been a huge deal!! :dance3:

Hi Friends

Diva died today.

My heart is broken. I just can't imagine what I'm going to do without her. She was my constant companion and my little love. She died in my arms.

I wanted you all to know in case I'm not around for a little while.

xoxo

Oh Heidi...I am so sorry. I know those words hold so little comfort when the world seems so sad...but I truly am sorry. From the pictures and the stories you have shared about Diva, I could tell she was a sweet little whipper snapper with a heart of gold and a wide streak of sass.

I know you will miss her...I know it hurts. What I don't know is that I can say or do anything to offer any comfort. Losing a loved one (and yes, sweet doggy best friends count too...heck, they count double since they only have unconditional love to offer) just plain hurts/sucks. You have my condolences, my prayers and if it helps, a wish for a sprinkling of pixie dust in your life:wizard: :wizard: . Gentle hugs for you on this very sad day.

When you have a chance, please PM me your contact info again. When I lost my last laptop, I lost it. I had deleted it from my PM box after I emailed it to myself...but when the computer poofed on me, I lost all of my saved information. :grouphug:

PS I do demand one thing...remember your most fun times with Diva and I DARE you not to smile!

Oooo, I am so sorry!! :sad1: It is really so hard to loose a dearly loved pet. I have enjoyed hearing about Diva and seeing her pictures. Many hugs to you
