Since finals are coming up (woo! so soon!), we did not have classes yesterday, so instead of studying, I went to Disneyland with 5 friends of course! :cool1:

Having never been on a weekday during a less busy season, I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall, it was not crowded so we had time to relax as well as get a lot of stuff done. :thumbsup2 Some notes:

-Arrived around 9:45AM and went straight to DCA where we were one of the first 20 people on TSMM. Even after we got off, the line wasn't more than 15 min.

-Went on Mickey's Fun Wheel for the first time in a long time. One of my friends was totally freaking out. :rotfl2:

-Lines for the big rides were very short all day. 15 min line for Matterhorn around noon. Walked on to Indy around 1. Only line we really waited in was TSMM for the second time for about 30/35 min around 6:15.

-Chilled in the Animation Building for a while. It was HOT yesterday, so the AC felt very nice. 2 of my friends took a nap in there (on the floor lol) and the rest of us went down to the Sorceror's Workshop and also saw Turtle Talk

-Saw WoC at 8:30. Was pretty crowded because both parks closed at 8. Saw it from the back of the blue section. Wonderful show. :wizard:

-Stayed until WoC ended, so a total of 11 hours. Rode 16 rides and just sat and relaxed a few times. Only ended up using FP for Space and Soarin, although it wasn't even needed on Soarin.

-Ariel's Undersea Adventure looks amazing, and I'm mad that I'm gonna have to wait until September to ride it, but oh well.

On to the pics!

They were setting up the stage for the Pirates premiere on Saturday. The stage looks super cool!

Thanks for posting! I have friends there Mon-Wed this week, so it's nice to read the crowds are low, even though the temps are high.

Nice quick TR and pix!

Glad to hear the crowds are finally gone. ;) Now I just need to plan a partial day trip working around DD's school, softball, and girl scout schedules!;) We haven't been in a few weeks and I miss it.

Sounds like a fantastic day. Great photos. My sister and her family are there today through Fri.

:lmao: Of Course!

Nice picture of the stage for PTOC 4. The underwater stage reminds me of the scene in "The Curse of the Black Pearl" when the crew takes a walk. Was the bridge to TSI still there? I was wondering if it was temporary for setup or for the show.?

The bridge was still set up, and it looks like it will be there until they take everything down. Man, if I had $1000 just laying around...

Thanks for the pics! I love that first one of the Matterhorn! Wish we could go on a non busy day too but being a family of two teachers and two students that just isn't going to happen.

Good luck with your finals!

Is this the normal closing time during off season?

Too bad that DL wasn't open till (at least) 9pm to take some of the crowds away from WoC.

Thanks for the report & pics DLR 29. :thumbsup2

:)

Great "study break"! Thanks for sharing your day and pics. Good luck with finals!

Guess I will have to live vicariously through you! Up to my ears in finals also so I came on here to take a quick break and see if new ticket deals were posted. Lucky you for your Disney break. Loved your pictures! Good Luck on your finals :thumbsup2.

Thanks for the pics! Especially liked the Matterhorn ones. Only 10 days till we are there, and hoping for some light days like you had for our week trip!!!

I am insanely jealous of you for living so close!!!
Thanks for the update, sounds like you had lots of fun :)

Oh now you are really making the next 5 days Loooonnngggg! So hoping the crowds are that way next week.

Great shots! Love the angles.

Thanks everybody! Check back next week for another update. After finals, my mom is coming to get me and all of my stuff and she wants to go one last time before our passes expire in June, so I'm going next Thursday too! I'm so spoiled living right here. :cool1:

@Hound, I'm pretty sure now that DCA has WoC it closes at 8 on "off season" days. I think it used to close at 6 before WoC. Although looking at the schedule for next week DCA closes at 8:30 with an 8:45 WoC. :confused3 Bizarre. I'm curious to see how the new attractions will affect DCA's operating hours.

Wow. I just don't understand how the crowds can be so low on Sunday, then so high during the week!

We were there Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

At times we had to wait an hour for Indy. Pixie Hallow was an hour. Couldn't even walk through Fantasyland yesterday afternoon. It was packed! Toy Story was about 45 min. The Ferris Wheel was over 30 minutes.
