We were down to our last day fo Trip Interrupted, but never to fear it was a GOOD one!
After some discussion the night before, we all agreed that Leo and I would get going early to hit EP for an hour or so. Char would get herself and Harry squared away, then meet us at MK.
See, Leo had another mission: he wanted to ride Test Track. For the FIRST time. Yep, hed never wanted to before that trip and was so sad that wed never gotten the chance, thanks to rain. So we agreed to make it a priority before leaving.
I ran our luggage out to the car and Leo and I walked, (well, I walked he rolled), to the TTC. That walk reminded me a bit of our shortcut to the MK form CR the pervious Sept. That shortcut that took 20 minutes to walk the footpath. Yeah, the Poly version wasnt much better.
But we did make it to the monorail
and to EPCOT, its beauty no longer marred by the stupid wand!
We only had one destination so we quickly made our way over to TT, where I parked the stroller and Leo readied himself for the testing lab.
With only a short wait, we soon found ourselves strapped in and ready to ride. Leo was still game, but a little shaky. He kept asking me if we were going to crash. And I honestly couldnt remember did it evade the crash? Or seem to crash, only to have the door open at the last minute?? It had been a long time since Id been a test dummy and I didnt want to lie, (trust me - Id never hear the end of it), so I just kept trying to be reassuring yet noncommittal.
Apparently that did nothing for Leo.
Because he spent the entire ride with his face buried in my shoulder.
He was going for lap, but was belted too tightly to reach.
Test Track really shook him up. No tears, but he wasnt interested in trying it again. He was, however, interested in the new car showroom. Which I can appreciate. My parents were both car-people. My moms gotten better, but when they were young, and for
all of my dads life, they were constantly trading cars in for something else. Heres just the partial list I know of:
Camaro
5 or 6 different MGs
1960something Ford pick-up
Audi
Land Cruiser
Saab
Connie Corvair
VW Beetle
Volvo
Bronco
Mustang
Datsun 280ZX
Jeep
LTD
Oh, and lets not forget Johnny Renault, which my parents drove across Route 66 in 1967. It broke down in Amarillo and no one there had ever seen a Renault. They spent 3 days in a hotel waiting for parts and instructions to arrive.
And thats just the fun cars. There was also a smattering of Nissans, Taurus and a Vega thrown in there.
Okay, and my list isnt so far off either: VW Super Beetle, Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Excel, Saturn coupe, Saturn wagon, Hyundai Santa Fe. And Ive got my eye on a VW Rabbit.
Yes, its a family sickness.
But it made me a little proud to see Leo checking out the new cars. Right up until I asked which was his favorite:
That there is a Cadillac.

Leo passed by a Saab convertible, a Hummer and a Corvette. For the Cadillac.

I shuddered just a little and hurried Leo on out of there.
We still had some time, so we made a quick trek through Nemo and the Seas before heading over to MK, where Char and Harry were waiting.
More later!
