TRIP INTERRUPTED - or V's Summer Vacation(s)

So I inquired at the podium and was told we had a pretty good chance of being seated within 45 minutes. Not bad – we decided to give it a try.
:yay:

a woman caught my attention and pointed toward the LGMH on my bag. It was a DISer!! :yay:
The LGMH's work, how cool to have a sighting :thumbsup2

Only about 25 minutes later, the buzzer-thingy started buzzing and shaking… WE GOT IN!!!! :woohoo: See – as long as Char was around, our mojo was cookin’.
You need to take her every trip :rotfl2:

Now, remember – I was just at Kona a week and a day earlier for Lapupalooza. Returning to the scene of the crime was kind of, well… surreal. Especially since they seated us at a table right next to the infamous Lapu-condo table! No, I didn’t see our LapuFest server, nor yet the manager who’d had the misfortune of informing us of the lack of pineapples. Which was probably a good thing.
Do you think they'd have remembered you? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I think. Frankly, I was so excited to get another of the squishy-faced little tiki glasses we’d swiped at Lapupabooza,
That's the first thing I noticed in the photo, so did you ummm liberate that one too? Surely it would want to be with it's friend :rotfl2:

We once again set up our “living room” in the entry and finished the wine whilst watching Sex & the City. Good times, good times! :goodvibes
Sounds lovely :goodvibes

:lmao: I'm surprised they let you back into Kona, you would think they would have a picture of you ladies with a big heading saying "DO NOT SERVE" ;)

No Lapu with dinner? Were they still all out of pineapples?

Quite frankly, I'm surprised they let you back into Kona! I thought surely they'd have our pictures posted at the front desk with a the number "86" scrawled across it! :rotfl2:

Awww... but you did manage a tiki glass again. Good times my friend good times!

I'm with you on the Poly - I love, love, love it. Nothing on property compares - not in the least. I felt so comfortable and at home there - I can't wait to go back. :goodvibes

COMMANDO? :scared1:

I'm a little tiny bit shocked that you didn't get a Lapu, but... :lmao:
Seriously, I think I could still taste Lapu juice a week later - there was NO WAY I could down one of those babies again so soon! :rotfl: We're not headed anywhere near the Poly in Dec., but I'm hoping to be recovered enough to enjoy one with my Lapu-buddy LL in Jan! :thumbsup2
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
not bad at all, although with 2 kids:confused3
Yeah, we were a little worried about that, too. Actually, no - just I was a little worried. Char just chased the two of them around the gift shop, having a grand old time. :rolleyes1
Lets talk cheese here Miss V,
I LOVE cheese especially some good Maytag Blue. I order 2 and 4 lb wheels from Maytag Dairy Farms. It is the most AMAZING cheese EVER!!:cloud9:
I will PM you the info you may want to try it out.
   THANK you T!!!

The LGMH's work, how cool to have a sighting :thumbsup2
They really do! I'm the absolute worst at spotting them, so it's a good thing others seem to see mine :rotfl:
Do you think they'd have remembered you? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
The thought definitely crossed my mind! ;)
That's the first thing I noticed in the photo, so did you ummm liberate that one too? Surely it would want to be with it's friend :rotfl2:
Nope. Know what? After downing a Lapu or 21, I felt a LOT more inconspicuous than I did after only one Mai Tai. :rolleyes1

Were they still all out of pineapples?
You know I was DYING to ask! :rotfl2:

I thought surely they'd have our pictures posted at the front desk with a the number "86" scrawled across it! :rotfl2:
Can't you just see walking in there and seeing the pic in our siggys behind the host stand?! :lmao:
Awww... but you did manage a tiki glass again.
D'OH! :headache: I should have snagged it for you - to replace the one you "lost". ;)

He was pinched by a Poly thief. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :teeth:

Hee hee!! No dancing weiners, but here's a banana. Same thing. :rolleyes1

Wow that Harry can eat,

Love the Leo pics, he just gets cuter. Next time I see him, I am going to pinch those cheeks:goodvibes

V!

Ok all caught, will check out pics when I get home (work blocks flickr, they probably think it's a porn site), but loving that your having a wonderful resort experiences.

I think you should do what I'm doing and just keep TRing the rest of your trips this year. Just Sayin' :rolleyes1

Hey! I'm BAAAA-AAACK too!!:yay: And how nice to get back to DIS'ing and a fresh PrincessV update!!

So Char's the one with the mojo, eh? Hmmfffpfpf...must've just been an off day...sounds like you guys had a great time! I loved seeing Leo finally coming down a slide! WOOOO HOOOO:woohoo: Michael will be very excited about that! Had to laugh about that chica at the bottom of the slide! :rotfl: What's up with that?? And where WAS she when I was at the Poly and needed someone at the bottom to "catch" Michael so I could enjoy a Pina Colava?? :confused3

And :lmao: at the fact that you got into Kona...I too may not have had another Lapu again so soon after...I was about pineapple'd out by the time we went home, that's for sure! MAYBE we'll be ready for another one come January!

Glad that your stay at the Poly was good...I'd have felt really bad if it didn't go well! But I agree...and after having done it before...I wouldn't use DVC points to stay there:sad2: ...BUT...if I were to be offered a really good AP rate...:rolleyes1

LY/MI! Great to be back!!

I think you should do what I'm doing and just keep TRing the rest of your trips this year. Just Sayin' :rolleyes1
I'll do my best, but no promises - I'm having an easy semester in the writing arena - things could change come Jan. :scared:
Hey! I'm BAAAA-AAACK too!!:yay:
Yay!! Welcome back LL
So Char's the one with the mojo, eh?
Actually, I think it's pretty much everyone except me. Note how quicky my mojo dissipated when you left. ::yes::
I loved seeing Leo finally coming down a slide! WOOOO HOOOO:woohoo: Michael will be very excited about that!
Wait, don't get too excited... things have been said, in regard to WDW and its thrills, and I'm a little worried... stay tuned! ;)

Commando??? :scared1: Oh no! Must be a thrilling day of moving through the world coming up!!
::yes:: We just may get our acts together after all!
Hey V!

Welcome aboard, and thanks for reading!

Yes, that was my actual reaction. I really tried to exercise some restraint, but really – Ohanas? With no ADR? Come on! I suggested, however, that we might try Kona. It was still pretty early and Kona doesn’t seem to get quite as much traffic as Ohana…
Hahahaha...well I am glad you managed to make it in somewhere!!! I've never tried Konas but that sounds so yummy. And I like that you can order what you want from a menu. Sounds like a terrific meal!
As we were heading out with our buzzer to find something to occupy our time, a woman caught my attention and pointed toward the LGMH on my bag. It was a DISer!! :yay: ShellyR25, I think, though I never confirmed spelling. And, with the useless board search tool, I’ve yet to figure it out. But I really did meet her.
Yaaaa I love an imprompto Dismeet!!!!! :thumbsup2

Leo is pointing at the castle. He really liked seeing it across the water.

I said it at the time, and I’ll say it now: I am 100%, absolutely head-over-heels in love with the Poly. IN. LOVE. With the exception of SSR, I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable at a WDW resort.

I completely know what you mean about the Poly....I really love it there too!

We were down to our last day fo Trip Interrupted, but never to fear – it was a GOOD one! :yay:

After some discussion the night before, we all agreed that Leo and I would get going early to hit EP for an hour or so. Char would get herself and Harry squared away, then meet us at MK.

See, Leo had another mission: he wanted to ride Test Track. For the FIRST time. Yep, he’d never wanted to before that trip and was so sad that we’d never gotten the chance, thanks to rain. So we agreed to make it a priority before leaving.

I ran our luggage out to the car and Leo and I walked, (well, I walked – he rolled), to the TTC. That walk reminded me a bit of our “shortcut” to the MK form CR the pervious Sept. That “shortcut” that took 20 minutes to walk the footpath. Yeah, the Poly version wasn’t much better.

But we did make it to the monorail…

…and to EPCOT, its beauty no longer marred by the stupid wand! :woohoo:

1322086980_eb0f5e16c2.jpg

We only had one destination so we quickly made our way over to TT, where I parked the stroller and Leo readied himself for the testing lab.

1321197841_5d6a356c05.jpg

With only a short wait, we soon found ourselves strapped in and ready to ride. Leo was still game, but a little shaky. He kept asking me if we were going to crash. And I honestly couldn’t’ remember – did it evade the crash? Or seem to crash, only to have the door open at the last minute?? It had been a long time since I’d been a test dummy and I didn’t want to lie, (trust me - I’d never hear the end of it), so I just kept trying to be reassuring yet noncommittal.

Apparently that did nothing for Leo.

Because he spent the entire ride with his face buried in my shoulder.

He was going for lap, but was belted too tightly to reach.

Test Track really shook him up. No tears, but he wasn’t interested in trying it again. He was, however, interested in the new car showroom. Which I can appreciate. My parents were both car-people. My mom’s gotten better, but when they were young, and for all of my dad’s life, they were constantly trading cars in for something else. Here’s just the partial list I know of:

Camaro
5 or 6 different MGs
1960something Ford pick-up
Audi
Land Cruiser
Saab
“Connie” Corvair
VW Beetle
Volvo
Bronco
Mustang
Datsun 280ZX
Jeep
LTD
Oh, and let’s not forget “Johnny” Renault, which my parents drove across Route 66 in 1967. It broke down in Amarillo and no one there had ever seen a Renault. They spent 3 days in a hotel waiting for parts and instructions to arrive.

And that’s just the “fun” cars. There was also a smattering of Nissans, Taurus’ and a Vega thrown in there.

Okay, and my list isn’t so far off either: VW Super Beetle, Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Excel, Saturn coupe, Saturn wagon, Hyundai Santa Fe. And I’ve got my eye on a VW Rabbit. :rolleyes1

Yes, it’s a family sickness.

But it made me a little proud to see Leo checking out the new cars. Right up until I asked which was his favorite:

1321198015_069f01968b.jpg

That there is a Cadillac. :headache: Leo passed by a Saab convertible, a Hummer and a Corvette. For the Cadillac. :scared: I shuddered just a little and hurried Leo on out of there.

We still had some time, so we made a quick trek through Nemo and the Seas before heading over to MK, where Char and Harry were waiting.

More later!

WOW its a big step that Leo at least wants to try.
My 2 boys are afraid of NOTHING!!!not always a good thing. Its good that Leo is cautious, and he knows his limits.
P and Happy are car people. Not me so much. The other day we were going to breakfast and Happy wanted to go in P's car to "test out the engine in the cold" and to see "how fast it can go in the cold" I dont know where that came from:confused3 The car isnt even new. He also likes to ride with the top down and a blanket on in the cold.

What a cool dude.

Really? You think this? I'm not so sure. I really did like the wand. It added a bit of magic to the "big ball". I'm not sad it's gone but I didn't hate it either.

Test Track really shook him up. No tears, but he wasn’t interested in trying it again.
What? No redneck photo? Shame!

More later!
Later as in "later today" or later as in "later some time maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon grasshopper"?
