TRIP INTERRUPTED - or V's Summer Vacation(s)

Hey! It wasn't the brown mama she was talking about. She said the woman in the PURPLE suit, which meant the pasty white chick! :rotfl2:

DUH! I know that DM - just 'cause she's pasty and white doesn't mean she's not brown. I can tell she's Latin - she's just an inside out Oreo. :p

Know it all!

Okay, head hung down in shame here. You'd know them Latinos better than I. Plus, I only check out the Latin guys ... ;)

Great update, V, and we are still with you!

I hope you had a great weekend and that F&W part 2 was warm and rain free (it's cold here in SC this week...I need some Orlando warmth!)

Hahahaha great update V.... it even looks hot out and aren't you so glad you brought the camera. Great pics and even Leo took some! I can't believe how big the kiddos are getting...I guess its all the yummy Disney food! (Well more Char's baby then yours but still). I love your suit too btw! Cute:cutie: as are you!!! :goodvibes So aren't you so tired by the end of the day of swimming and heat? Can't wait to hear more!!!

TL looks like so much fun...I hope that someday I will get to go to a WDW water park (other that River Country which I went to as a kid) but DH doesn't swim and has no interest whatsoever!:sad2:
Great updates!
My 1-year old eats like Harry did - the kid's a bottomless pit!
Good for you saying something to crazy purple suit lady. I, too, would not have been happy with her hands all over my kid - esp if said kid is just gaining his swimming confidence!
I can relate to your experience with Leo on BTMRR. My older son insisted on the Bug movie in the Tree of Life. We kept telling him that he could be scared, described the special effects, etc.:scared1: He insisted. About 2 minutes into it, we were on our way out of there. Luckily, it wasn't crowded at all (maybe 30 people total) so we didn't disturb anyone!

I must get us to the waterparks SOON!!
Yes ma'am - you guys will have a BLAST! :thumbsup2

How annoying of that lady, did she actually have a child going down it?
That's a good question - I was trying to keep track and never saw her handle any child differently, so I couldn't really tell if any were her own. Which is even creepier, isn't it?

Growth Spurt:confused3
I don't think so :rotfl: I shared with Char how much he'd downed and she wasn't at all surprised! But she's like 5'10" and her late DH was over 6', so he's bound to be a big boy.

Hmm, sounds like you got in somewhere. ;)
Maybe! ;)

That is so true, V. :thumbsup2 We were on a cruise in Panama and, no kidding, the water in the pool was at least 95 degrees. Even with my Florida skin, that was wayyyy too hot.
LOL, we're very particular about our temps, aren't we?! I had the hardest time deciding what to wear Sat - BIG difference between 78 and 80, y'know! :rotfl:

great update and pics. good for you saying something to her.
Thanks - I tried to be nice about it, but gee whiz lady, hands off my kid!

And every mom turns into "one of those moms" some time or another. We're only human, right?
Thanks DM!
:rotfl2: Why do I love those movies?
Me too! And, somehow I knew you would, too ;)
:rotfl2: That's a brown Mama for you. My mother has that same problem. I have to constantly remind her NOT to touch other peoples children! :sad2:
Next time just say "Cuidado con las manos". She'll get the picture! :lmao:

:lmao: Yep, she was a brown Mama, despite pasty-white evidence to the contrary. You guys crack me up!

Thanks sharkB8! It was a beeeutiful day - mid-70s, dry and sunny!
And... less than 5 weeks to go!!!!
Hahahaha great update V.... it even looks hot out and aren't you so glad you brought the camera.
D'OH!!! I forgot to mention the camera - since Leo used up all the pics on the waterproof camera at the Poly, I bought another one at TL. For $23. NOTE: buy the waterproof cameras at a drugstore before getting to WDW.

TL looks like so much fun...I hope that someday I will get to go to a WDW water park (other that River Country which I went to as a kid) but DH doesn't swim and has no interest whatsoever!:sad2:
Ditch him! :rotfl: No, try Googling some TL/BB images and share with your DH - he just might change his mind! :thumbsup2

Rub it in ... but I did quickly say you know them brownies better than I do. Plus, remember I said I usually only check out the brownie guys! They're so sweet! :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

So V, are you still bored? :bored: Perhaps a new installment is on the way? :rolleyes1

As a fellow govt. employee, I will give her the benefit and today is only Monday since yesterday was the holiday for us...so technically she owes an update tomorrow, right V:rolleyes1

Still reading along! Good pics from Leo again! So didn't anyone else tell the "mother hen" to kindly mind her own business???

Um... yeah, that's right! :rolleyes1

No! They were all standing around looking bothered, but no one else said a darned thing. Good thing I'm getting more uppity as I approch 40! :rotfl:

Still without a frosty drink, I was up for whatever establishment could help me out with that. Despite our proximity to the monorail, Char wasn’t real into checking out the food offerings at CR or GF.

And.

She really wanted table service. On Labor Day Weekend. With no ADR.

Oh, and could we maybe try Ohanas?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, that was my actual reaction. I really tried to exercise some restraint, but really – Ohanas? With no ADR? Come on! I suggested, however, that we might try Kona. It was still pretty early and Kona doesn’t seem to get quite as much traffic as Ohana…

So I inquired at the podium and was told we had a pretty good chance of being seated within 45 minutes. Not bad – we decided to give it a try. Worst case scenario, if we got too hungry waiting, we’d dump Kona and go down to Capt. Cook’s.

As we were heading out with our buzzer to find something to occupy our time, a woman caught my attention and pointed toward the LGMH on my bag. It was a DISer!! :yay: ShellyR25, I think, though I never confirmed spelling. And, with the useless board search tool, I’ve yet to figure it out. But I really did meet her. She informed me of a major DIS meet that very evening – they were all meeting to watch Wishes! At the rate we were going, I thought it highly unlikely we’d make it, but it was nice to know my lime green family was out there, somewhere. :goodvibes

After that neat little visit, Char and I rounded up the boys and set off to check out the gift shop, with a little stop to visit the Tiki men on the way.

Only about 25 minutes later, the buzzer-thingy started buzzing and shaking… WE GOT IN!!!! :woohoo: See – as long as Char was around, our mojo was cookin’.

Now, remember – I was just at Kona a week and a day earlier for Lapupalooza. Returning to the scene of the crime was kind of, well… surreal. Especially since they seated us at a table right next to the infamous Lapu-condo table! No, I didn’t see our LapuFest server, nor yet the manager who’d had the misfortune of informing us of the lack of pineapples. Which was probably a good thing.

So… what did we eat? Char and I both started off with some yummy drinks:

An Island Sunset for Char…

And a Mai Tai for V…

I think. Frankly, I was so excited to get another of the squishy-faced little tiki glasses we’d swiped at Lapupabooza, I wasn’t paying much attention to what was in it.
Mai Tai have another tiki glass, please! Why, thank you!

No food porn, but here’s what we ate:
Char: Some kind of seafood chowder that’s no longer on the menu. Which is sad. Because it was YUM-O! She also had the Pot Stickers and proclaimed them delicious, as well.

V: The same crab cakes I’d had the previous week, and they were every bit as good the second time! I also had the Kona Salad with Maytag blue cheese… :cloud9: is really all I can say about that. I loves me some moldy cheese. TFI.

Harry and Leo: Both had the kids hot dog. I’m guessing they were good, because they were GONE just like that!

Believe it or not, we managed to stop at one drink, (of course, we did have half a bottle of wine waiting in the room, but whatever), and finished up pretty quickly. It was the perfect light dinner with our guys, and we were all feeling pretty happy!

Since we’d eaten so early, we took a little time to really enjoy that, our final day, at the Poly.

Leo is pointing at the castle. He really liked seeing it across the water.

I said it at the time, and I’ll say it now: I am 100%, absolutely head-over-heels in love with the Poly. IN. LOVE. With the exception of SSR, I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable at a WDW resort. I don’t love it enough to inefficiently use my DVC points on a stay there, but I sure love it enough to book it again when next they offer a good AP rate and my points are used up for that year! (Trust me – THAT’s not a difficult scenario to imagine.)

Char sweetly reminded me about the DIS meet at the MK, and said she’d be happy to get both boys into bed if I wanted to go. I really appreciated the thought, but I was pretty tired from our day at TL and decided to skip the meet. We once again set up our “living room” in the entry and finished the wine whilst watching Sex & the City. Good times, good times! :goodvibes

Coming next: Time to go commando. :cool2:

Lets talk cheese here Miss V,
I LOVE cheese especially some good Maytag Blue. I order 2 and 4 lb wheels from Maytag Dairy Farms. It is the most AMAZING cheese EVER!!:cloud9:
I will PM you the info you may want to try it out.

Me too V!!!!LOVE IT!!
After our PO-Riverside disaster in Jul we check out of there after a day and we were able to get into the Poly. We really wanted the GF as that is where we always stay(but not avail). Let me tell you, we had a new room(refurbished) and it put the GF to shame.(although I have not seen the new rooms at GF yet).Service was top notch and everything was CLEAN. I think we may try Poly for our Apr trip.
Coming next: Time to go commando. :cool2:
Im all strapped in:eek:

PS. very cute pics!!!
