Hi everyone! I figured I would ask here before calling Disney, to maybe save myself a call. We called and booked our package today, and booked the trip insurance because we will be traveling during hurricane season in September 2020. After booking, I started looking into renting DVC points and realized that's a route we might want to be able to go. Would the trip insurance I purchased through Disney cover the DVC reservation instead of the one I booked through Disney? If not, is the trip insurance refundable? Thank you!

Nope.

Nope.

You have 14 days to cancel the WDW travel insurance policy as long as you haven't filed a claim or departed on the trip (which you haven't). It's a 30 day free look back if you live in UT.

If you click the link below, it will take you to the WDW Travel Protection Plan. If you look on page 1, you will see it states:

"If You are not satisfied for any reason, You may return Your policy in writing to Aon Affinity Travel Practice, 900 Stewart Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530-9998, within 14 days after receipt. Your premium will be refunded, provided You have not already departed on the Trip or filed a claim. When so returned, all coverages under the policy are void from the beginning."

I will call WDW ASAP and ask if they can pull the travel insurance off your package. If they can't, I would contact Aon ASAP to get the refund process started. Did WDW send you a copy of your policy with the plan number and all info?

If you only booked a package today and you aren't traveling until September, you do not need travel insurance at this time unless you have purchased other non-refundable travel components, like air? Your $200 deposit is refundable up to your balance due date (30 days prior to departure), so, unless you purchased airfare or some other non-refundable item, you have nothing to insure at this moment. I, personally, never purchase travel insurance until I have non-refundable trip components. Even then, I purchase third-party insurance to make sure all of my trip components are covered and I can pick and choose the actual coverage I need.
