trip in 2008 tips an advice needed

hi we are staying at por in july 2008. take 4 kids 15 8 7 and 3 it will be the middle 2's birthday while we are ther so any ideas for extra special suprise would be good. also any info on the weather and hotel would be great. and just any advice or tips would be lovely as i really want to make this a wonderful trip. we went last year and missed so much due to kids being ill. thanks in advance for all you help

July is hot! The mist fans are great. Plan on taking a break in the afternoon to relax at POR's wonderful pools. POR has a boat to downtown which is a great way to relax on a hot afternoon.
If you think the children would enjoy it, think about doing a birthday cruise. You can rent a pontoon boat, driver included, for up to 10 people and view either Wishes or Illuminations. Make sure and get a birthday button at Guest Relations on the appropriate day.
The food court at POP had small birthday cakes in the refrigerator section.

I wonder if all of the food courts sell birthday cakes. I've never thought to look, but that's a really good idea.

Maybe some room decorations such as balloons from the Disney florist would be nice.

the Spoodles bakery on the boardwalk sells them and also most disney restaurants do too!! Some really neat cakes there is a thread on here somewhere about them and pics! Ill try to find it again!
