Early next December, we plan a 9 night stay using our points for the first time. We had planned on booking our home resort (BCV), but I'm a little concerned because I heard SAB closes at dusk. My son really likes to swim at night and a "quiet" pool just doesn't cut it! I was going to switch my plans to WLV because I know there pool is open after dark, but now I'm thinking of BWV because it's close to Epcot like my husband wanted and I hear the pool is great. Does anyone know about the pool hours for the main pool at these various resorts in December when it gets dark early?

Not sure the pool situation will be any different at VWL or BWV than it is at SAB. The slides at the BWV & VWL pools (probably, the main attraction) close as soon as the lifeguards leave. I would suspect that is quite early in the evening during December. IIRC, last December at BWV that was around dusk - 5:30 or 6 pm. So even though Luna Park would be open for swimming, it wouldn't be much different than swimming in one of the quiet pools.

Early December is a tough time to book DVC accomodations. If you want to be assured of a room at BWV or VWL for that time, you will need to look for an owner who would like to trade his/her BWV or VWL points for your BCV points.

Otherwise, my advice is to book your home at 11 months and then try to switch at the 7 month mark. That way you'll be assured of a room.

HTH. IMHO, December is a great time to visit, even if it happens to be too cold for swimming!
