Trip cancellation insurance for Quebec residents

I was wondering if any Quebecers might have recommendations for trip cancellation insurance?

I'm specifically looking for something that would cover air and cruise. I am covered for medical through my employer, and car through my credit card. Ideally, I'd like to get a "cancel for any reason" policy.

Insure My Trip doesn't work for Quebec residents...

Check with your credit card ,some Visa and I know for a fact that Master Card Banque Nationale covers you for travel as long as you pay your trip with. it also covers spouse and your children. Check with your financial institution. Have a magical trip

I am insured through my BMO mastercard. RBC is the biggest travel insurer that I know and used them in the past. I also used Caisse Desjardins too. Just compare prices.

I've checked with both of my credit cards (BMO master card, and CIBC Aerogold) so far neither of them offer trip cancellation. I read the terms carefully, and called. CIBC has "baggage delay" though. The only BMO master card that has trip cancellation/delay and medical benefits is the World Elite MC. Add-ons to other BMO Mastercards that can be purchased are not available to Quebec residents...

Options are extremely limited in Quebec. So far, all of my research comes up with "not available to Quebec residents". Those that are available (RBC, Desjardins, Croix-bleu) are twice the cost of the plans that are available to other Canadians, and don't offer nearly the same competitive features - such as Cancel For Any Reason, pre-existing conditions waiver, and protection for lost Timeshare maintenance fees.

I may just have to change my credit card - off to do more research!

I have trip cancellation with my BMO mastercard (45$ a year) but maybe they changed the conditions since? I've had it for close to 10 years. I guess I won' t touch it! Good luck with your search!
