Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

Okay seriously?? You post that Picture and expect me not to comment?? Um yeah right.

:rotfl:

Mississippi says whas up!!!

Sweet find on the milkshakes! That's good to know! We might have to check that out next time. I've heard the Sci-Fi ones are fabulous from lots of people.

I think this is the first time I've read of anyone eating at that place (sorry, I already forgot the name ) Glad to know you liked it. Those pretzels from the stand look good too. I love those things! We got one that was stuffed with cheese once at WDW and it was so good!

I really wish I could find a go-to place at HS to eat (table or CS). We just haven't been blown away by anything we've eaten there. :confused3

Hi.:goodvibes I have really enjoyed reading your trip report. I can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

Welcome! :cool1: So glad you're enjoying the report! Lots more to come. :goodvibes

Sci-Fi has the best milkshakes!! ::yes:: I was happy to see that these were the same. But they only had chocolate & vanilla. DS13 always gets a cookies & cream shake at Sci-Fi. So, we are headed back to Sci-Fi next time!! Hopefully I can find something to eat there now that they have removed the yummy steak salad from the menu. :sad2:

That place was called Min & Bill's Dockside Diner. Neat little place right on the lake!

A pretzel stuffed with cheese sounds good! Maybe I'll have to get one of those next time! :thumbsup2

After lunch we just wandered around with no real plan in mind until it was time for the next Indiana Jones Stunt show. We hadn't seen it in a few years and we really wanted to see it this time.

I wanted to see Muppet Vision, but no one else was too interested. No one mentioned the Backlot Tour, so I didn't bring it up. I usually love doing it, but just didn't feel like it this time. So we ended up wandering the Streets of America.

Continued.....

We messed around there until it was about time for Indy to start and then we headed there. We got a decent seat off to the right side. The sky was looking a bit dark but they started the show anyway and warned us that if it rained the outside portion (the whole second half) would be canceled. And wouldn't you know it, it rained. :sad2: So we got to see about half of the show and then they sent us out and told us to come back for another show later. Which we did not make it back for.

Here are the pictures I took of the show ~

We were disappointed that we didn't get to see the whole show, but what are you gonna do?? It had stopped raining but they said it was too dangerous for their actors to perform on the slick surface.

Up Next: More DHS

I have the same picture of the kids with the snowman that your ds10 has! LOL!! DD especially gets such a kick out of posing there! I might have to try Min and Bills or whatever it is next time, we usually do Pizza Planet, but I am getting tired of it...and we will have 50s Prime Time for our sit down dinner. That's always a hoot and great food!

It looks like you guys had a great time with the Streets of America! Too bad it rained for the second part of Indiana Jones. That's always a fun show to watch!

Thanks for answering my Poly question!:goodvibes I had a feeling it would be quicker walking to the TTC when going to Epcot. I checked out your Poly report again, I can't get enough of the pictures!

Hi Shelly, I am loving your trip report. The pics are great and the format makes it so easy to keep up with the updates. :)

We have never seen Indy. We probably won't on our next trip either since it will just be Morghan and I. Bummer you didn't get to even see the whole thing either Shelly.

I have my October CBR trip all booked and feel nervous for some reason! :sad2: Can I ask a few meal opinions from you Shelly? I really trust your judgment!

1900 Park dinner
The Plaza lunch
Cape May breakfast
(those three are definite.) And then either Boma or 'Ohana for dinner? I can't decide!

Any experience? I think we've talked about a couple of these before. Thanks so much! :goodvibes

One of the kids always want their picture taken with that dang snowman!! :upsidedow:rotfl:

We've never been to 50's Prime Time. I just don't think DS10 would get the humor there. :scared1:

Yeah, we were bummed about Indy. Oh well, maybe next time!

You're welcome. :goodvibes I'm happy to answer any Poly questions anytime!! ::yes:: I hope you love it as much as we did. I can't wait to get back there! :yay:

Glad you are enjoying the TR! Feel free to post anytime. :)

Let's see...

We had dinner at 1900 PF once. The food was just okay. But the characters were fantastic!

The Plaza is a great place for lunch!

We had breakfast at Cape May once. The food was good, but probably not as good (or as plentiful) as CP or CM. It's fun to see the characters in their beach attire! :cool1:

Never been to Boma.

Ohana for dinner is awesome!! So much good food. :faint: Great atmosphere! :thumbsup2

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Even though you asked Shelly, I'll share my experience (I'm sort of pushy that way! :) :
We thought 1900 was pretty decent. Since it's a buffet, you can almost always find something you like. My DH liked it better than I did - more meat I guess! They had a lot of salads and fruit that I liked. It's been a few years since we went (I think 2009), but the characters were FABULOUS! Lots of fun!
We enjoyed the Plaza lunch back in 2008 - good sandwiches, yummy ice cream!
Cape May breakfast was good too - big buffet - again - I love the fresh fruit! The characters are so cute in their beach wear! I do remember they had mickey waffles! I may have a picture somewhere of the buffet. I'll look.

My whole family liked Boma dinner! There was a nice kids section that had plain noodles, chicken nuggets, etc. Plus lots of ethnic foods to try. Good meat - if you go on the right night, they have AWESOME ribs! DH loves them and was sadly disappointed they didn't have them last time. I love ethnic food so I try all kinds of stuff. Plus they have a nice selection of desserts! It's pricey though.

We are (well I am) very excited about our Ohana dinner that we have scheduled for our October trip! I've heard such great things! We made our add kind of early (5:15) so we can wander around the Poly, shop etc. until it's time to hang out on the Poly beach and watch fireworks!

Shelly - too bad you couldn't see the whole Indy show! We haven't been to DHS in a while, and are planning to spend at least a little time there next trip. We don't do RNR or TOT, so that cuts down on the time we spend there. It's sad the food options are so inadequate. They need to improve on that. I'd leave the park and go to the Boardwalk or Beaches N Cream maybe! It just takes so much time! Maybe if I were hopping after the a.m. in DHS and going to Epcot that would be an option...

Stay cool!

You two are the best!!! Thank you so much. I guess I'm a little nervous going alone with just Morghan. I am glad I seemed to have picked some winners! :thumbsup2

So how's everyone standing the heat??? We hit 97 yesterday! :faint:

I saw that y'all were really hot up there, too! You've got us beat today - we are at a chilly 92 right now. :cold: DH just left for our camp. He's taking DS and his friend fishing. I decided to skip it - it's just too hot to be outside, and I can sit inside here in my own house with faster internet.

Have a great weekend and stay cool! :cool2:

That just really made me laugh! Street wanderers!

Too bad the rain cut Indy short. Those showers that pop up are usually over quickly, so you'd think the show could continue afterward. I guess they have to be careful when it's slick.

How did the heat there compare to what it's like at home now? I've thought about how it feels here now and how I wouldn't be able to take being at Disney if it was this hot.

We didn't get to see the whole Indy show on our last trip either. We ran into the theater to escape the downpour even though we had quite awhile to go before the show started. The rain did stop by the time the show started, but we heard the same thing....too slick for the actors....so we didn't get to see the part with the plane. We might have to go back on our next trip because Madison has never seen the whole show!

Gotta give my 2 cents! :goodvibes Cape May breakfast is excellent! We ate there on our last trip and it was only a day after we ate at Chef Mickey's. It was the exact same food but much less noisy and crowded. And you can't beat the characters in their beach attire!! :thumbsup2

Madison LOVED 50's Prime Time on our last trip and begged to go back. Of course, she was putting her elbows on the table on purpose to see what "Cousin" Stacy would say.

It is so nice to have good Disney friends! Your TR is what inspired me to look into Cape May, Meghan. Thank you!! :goodvibes
