Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

Awww what a perfect ending that night was! How special! And I'm not just talking about us talking. ;)

I bet the boys thought the water was wonderfully relaxing after that long hot day. And thank goodness no loud obnoxious microphone blasters.

The fireworks and ice cream..... Sigh. Nothing better.

Well maybe a Dole Whip and Wishes, yes. ::yes::

Can't wait to read what happens next! :)

It was so cool when you popped up on that screen!! :cool1: But then the dang thing froze up. :headache:

It was a great night at the pool. So peaceful. :goodvibes

I could go for a Dole Whip right now. ::yes:: Guess an Edy's pineapple fruit bar will have to do for now. And for the next 5 1/2 months. :scared1:

Noodle Swap! I have heard it all! :rotfl: See, if I hadn't asked my random question, I would never have learned of this. Now that is a great idea. :thumbsup2

The stuff you learn on here! :disrocks:

Yep, it's all set up on the YC/BC FAQ. Pretty neat thing! :cool1:

Am glad you all had a nice relaxing evening after your rather hectic day.

Hearing "butt in face" had me cracking up!! :rotfl:;)

Yes, Illuminations and hot fudge as well as Wishes and Dole Whip :cloud9:

I knew there was a reason I thought a Poly/BC split day was a good idea!

That looks like a great, relaxing night after a long day!:goodvibes That's great you got some quiet pool time in at SAB! Whenever we went to SAB in February, it was loud and crowded, but we still enjoyed it.

Illuminations + Ice Cream Sundae = Great end to a WDW Day (or any day for that matter!:rotfl: )

It was a nice way to end a very long day! :)

Yes, I think quiet pool time at SAB is hard to come by. We were lucky that night!! ::yes::

I like to end every day with ice cream too. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I'm glad you had a nice end to the busy day! We stopped into B&C once while we were there... actually it was later in the week after we had already checked out & were staying offsite. It looked crowded in there! We just got ice cream to go.

We just returned yesterday from our trip to WDW and the BCV. We ate at Beaches and Cream yesterday for lunch. It was delicious. DH and I both got the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque and our boys both got the hot dog meal. We were at BCV for 8 nights and tried several times to get into B&C but the wait was always too long. Yesterday we were waiting at the tables outside before it even opened. We were the first family seated (everyone clapped and cheered for us because we were the first patrons of the day - my boys loved that). We were the only ones in the restaurant for about 15 mins. DH and I decided if we want to eat there again that being there right when it opens is probably the best time because the wait time is minimal. We were also able to get a booth which was really nice. The tables are really, really small.

Every table in B&C was full every time we went in there or by there!! :scared1: Pretty popular place!

Welcome back! :) Glad you enjoyed B&C! That's a good idea to get there before they even open! ::yes::

No, you didn't!!! I kind of forgot about it!

Thanks! Brings back such fond memories of the BEST TRIP EVER!! :cloud9::love:

Hi Shelly,

I just notice your trip report and have spent the last hour getting caught up on what I've missed. So sorry you had room issues at the BC. We were lucky when we went to BC 2 years ago, our room was clean. Yuck though! Glad they were able to give you 2 nights to use at the GF though :goodvibes. That would be my daughters dream Disney trip, GF followed by Poly. We have stayed at Poly 3 trips but never at GF. At least not yet. I'm enjoying your report. My DS now wants to go to Legoland because he is Lego obsessed. Do you think it's worth taking a day away from Disney? Looking forward to reading more.

Hey Nichole  Long time no "see"!

So glad you could join us!! :cool1:

Yes, if your DS loves Lego's then I totally think it is worth it to go to LL once. :yay: You can really do it in a half day, unless you want to cover every inch of the park. So you really don't even need to give up an entire Disney day!

Day 4: Tuesday May 1

We got up around 7:30 and got ready. Today was DHS day!! :cool1: My favorite park! DS13's too!! We were ready and headed down to the boat dock before 8:30.

We got outside and boy was it another hot one. :faint:

There was a big banquet of some sort set up on the BC beach. Looked like maybe breakfast was going to be served soon.

It looked so cool, we wish we would have been invited!! ::yes::

We made our way to the boat dock. There were several people there, but it wasn't overly crowded.

I think we waited about 5-10 minutes for a boat. It wasn't long at all.

And pretty soon we were there!!

We went through security and to the entrance. It was right around 8:55 and they had just started letting people in. Sadly, so more opening show. :sad2:

We were in the middle of the TSM stampede when we noticed some characters coming out in front of the hat! The kids spotted Donald and just had to get another picture for their bus driver!! (remember from earlier in the TR – she is a huge Donald Duck fan!) So we jumped out of the stampede and made our way to Donald and were the second family in line!

Continued.....

Then it was back to business! I thought for sure the TSM line would be huge by now, but it wasn't! We walked straight through the line and rode and then grabbed FP's for later.

When we went into the first two games on the ride nothing happened. Blank screens and we couldn't shoot. It was weird. We just sat in those 2 rooms and did nothing. :confused3 The kids were behind us so at the time we didn't know if theirs was working or not. Ended up it wasn't. The guy across from us kept looking at us and saying – what the heck??? I was wondering the same thing. I was going to be mad if we went the entire way through and didn't get to play any of the games!! But luckily things got back to normal in the third round and it worked fine after that. DH beat me as always. I usually get way better accuracy than him but he tied me on that!

After we were done we grabbed FP's for later and then we split up. DS13 and I were ready to hit RNRC!! :cool1: DS10 & DH headed for Star Tours.

The stand by line said 20 minutes. We were hoping to ride it at least 2 times, so we decided to go in the single rider line since there is never a wait for it. So we go clear through an empty line and get up to the front and the CM says – you know this is the single rider line, right? We say – yep, that's fine! And he says – you know there is no wait in the stand by line, right? Um, nope. The sign says 20 minutes. Nope, no wait he says. Then he makes us wait while he lets through a bunch of stand by people and then I am thinking he is going to just send us into the room with them so that we can ride together. After-all he said there was no line. But nope, he then lets us into the upper level of the pre-show room for the single riders.

So we took our single ride!

And then went through the regular line and rode together – with no wait! :upsidedow

Afterwards we sat outside and listened to some Aerosmith music awhile! Then we went over to TOT, but the wait was something like 50 minutes. So we passed. I looked and it was just barely past time for our TSM FP's, so DS and I could get FP's for TOT for later! I called DH and we headed to meet back up with them for our TSM FP time.

While we were off partying with Aerosmith they had been taking a few rides on Star Tours!

Up Next: A Second Ride on TSM!

Isn't it so nice to have no stampede heading to TSM?? We loved it - we were the first riders! We totally would have run into you if you had hit HS a day later or we hit it a day sooner. We went on Wed and did the same path you did - TSM then over to RnR but our problems were reversed - TSM was no problems at all but RnR wasn't running :( We wasted some time waiting but in the end went to do ToT and came back to it walk on bc it had JUST opened up so in the end it worked out ok. It's a little frustrating though when they don't work and start interfering with your plans hey? Glad TSM ended up working for you.

I love Disney boat rides. So relaxing!

DHS has got to be one of our favorite parks too. Our 13 year olds are so similar! Love the thrill rides! Both you and your son have big smiles on RnRc Shelly! :thumbsup2

It sure is!! We've seen it with a HUGE stampede before and even with getting there are RD had to wait 20+ minutes to ride TSM. :sad2: So glad it wasn't one of those mornings!!

Too bad we weren't there on the same day! :upsidedow So close!!

I hate when rides aren't running. Messes up your whole plan. :headache: Glad it all ended up well for you though!

DS and I always have a BIG smile on RNRC!!! :teeth: ::yes::

Our 13 year olds sure would have fun together at DHS, wouldn't they?!!! :cool1:

You are updating my FAVORITE park today!!! I love this update!!!

Glad you enjoyed the update!! :woohoo:

Wow! Looks like the crowds were really low that morning! That's good news considering how it had been up to that point. Two rides on TSM is always awesome! :wizard: But you can have those two rides on RnRC. I'm not jealous of that at all. :snooty:

I hope the rest of the day went as well as your morning!

Can't believe the low crowds! No matter what time of year we go, there is always a massive stampede/line at TSMM. Maybe things will change on our next trip!

Love the RNRC pics! Can't wait to ride it again....haven't been on it since June 2009!!!! I couldn't ride all of my favorite thrill rides on our last trip.
