Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

Lauren--- RPC- that is so wonderful!:goodvibes I would love to stay there at least once. I actually looked into it for this trip but I was terrified of having construction views. (Well I still am with SL and the Courtyard pool but we'll see how that goes...) I think that the convenience of the main bldg would be worth the cost. Not to mention having that music all day and the Christmas decorations too. Well shoot. Now you have me wanting to price it out again. :lmao: I can't wait to hear every minute detail of your trip.
Oh and yeah--- matching tickers!! Niiiiice! ::yes::

Shelly------- you too can get a matching ticker and we could be Ticker Triplets!;) Okay maybe that's a little TOO matchy matchy.:rotfl2:

Love the pics from the balloon! I think I'd be a little scared on the way up, but once I saw the view I'd be ok. I have a slight problem with heights, but I love big roller coasters. I guess it's because you're not in the air that long on a roller coaster!

I just love that you could see DHS, Epcot and even the Contemporary! So cool!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!:good vibes

Jodi- I never even realized that our tickers are matching!:rotfl2: Too funny! We will actually be staying RPC both times at the GF! We loved SL on our visit in November 2011, but I splurged and booked us RPC for these next two times! On our other GF visits, we did RPC and loved the convenience of being in the main building. SL was great too though, and we loved it! Don't worry, I will have PLENTY of pictures of the GF for both you and Shelly! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see all your pictures!! :goodvibes

You better not ditch me in SL!!! :scared1::rotfl:

No no, I'll let you and Lauren have your little matchy tickers... :snooty:

Thanks Meghan! :) I thought it might be a bit scary up there, especially for DS10 who is not all that into thrill rides, heights, roller coasters, etc - but we all loved it and it wasn't scary at all!!

The views were pretty amazing. :lovestruc

Thanks for posting the pictures from Characters in Flight! I've only seen pictures from the balloon two or three times. I'm guessing it's because the darn thing is always down because of weather or wind.

You're welcome Lisa - hope you enjoyed them!! :goodvibes

I know, that dang thing was closed way more than it was open. :sad2:

After our flight in the sky we were ready to shop!!

First stop was the Harley Davidson store. DH always has to buy something from here. IDK why, he doesn't even have a motorcycle. Mid life crisis maybe?

This time it was a shirt!

Then we made our way through the rest of the West Side, browsing a few shops along the way.

You can see here where they are putting in the new bowling alley – Splitsville.

Then we made our way back across Pleasure Island and to the Marketplace. DS10 couldn't wait any longer – first stop, the Lego Store!!

We found a screen that displays a 3D image of the Legos that are in the Star Wars Lego boxes, like the one we had seen when we were at the Lego Store in Charlotte. Very neat!

A panoramic view of the Lego Store!

DS still trying to decide what to buy, after nearly an hour in there. :faint:

And one happy little boy!

Not only was he able to use his Lego VIP card, he also got a free mini-figurine and a poster!

Almost bought this dress, but ended up not getting it.

DS had to get this for our puppy! It's an oven mitt. Since they stopped selling pet gifts at WDW, we have to get creative with little Jack's gifts!

And I got some things for the kitchen. Not sure what's up with my dress here, but I totally look pregnant! I can assure you that I totally am NOT!

We looked around at a few more stores. We got the kids the Disney Universe game for the Wii that they wanted from Once Upon a Toy! And then we went in and got some snacks to go at Goofy's Candy Co.

And with that we said good-bye to DTD and headed out to the Marketplace bus stop.

And just as suspected there was a big crowd of people at the bus stop because 5 resorts share this bus. Luckily we had chosen to get on the bus here because had we got on at the West Side we would have been standing for the very long ride back to the BC. Once the bus left the Marketplace it stopped at the West Side, Typhoon Lagoon, Swan, Dolphin, BWI, YC, and finally the BC. Over a 45 minute trip. :faint: Ridiculous.

When we got back to the BC the kids spotted this little guy from the bridge that goes to/from the BC bus stop and the BC.

Girl, I NEVER get out of the LEGO store in under an hour! It takes my kid an eteeeeerrrnity to decide when we are there!

Mid life crisis :rotfl2: maybe he's trying to tell you he'd like a Harley!
Well my BIL just texted that they are on ME to their resort!! I am so jealous!! and excited for them all at the same time.
On another note, I didn't get the job I interviewed for on Friday. I have been crying on and off for an hour now even though it wasn't the job I wanted.
Great update!! I can't believe you are going back in just a few months!!
I just got an iphone and got a wicked cute disney countdown app!! I wish I had a vacation to countdown to LOL!!!:rotfl

Shelly---- forget ammo. Buy that man a Harley!:lmao: Cute shirt!

I can't believe you spent an hour in the Lego store. You are such a good mama! I would have been all "You have exactly 10 minutes left young man, now hurry up!" ::yes:: Not exactly the patient type. :rotfl: Glad he got what he wanted and some bonus prizes to boot!

Y'all had a very prosperous day I think as far as shopping goes. Even Jack Jack got an oven mitt! I hope he has a good recipe for treats!:goodvibes

Well too bad, he's not getting one!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

How fun for your BIL!! :cool1: But yes, I am jealous too!

I'm so sorry you didn't get the job. Hang in there!

DS13 just got the My Disney Experience app for his Ipod and it's pretty neat. :)

 Yeah right!!

Oh I try that -- you have 10 minutes left, but it never works. :rotfl: He just gives me his sad look and I say - okay 5 more minutes. Again and again. Until we are in there for over an hour and then I am so irritated!!! :furious: But once we walk out of the store I am happy again. ::yes::

It was a great shopping day! :cool1:

Gotta love the shopping!!
I would have left my kids (probably with DH!) and said call me when you're done. I'll be in World of Disney or Trend D or Basin...

Sarah just rediscovered Legos last fall and got some for Christmas and got some more from our friends in London. We may have to stop in that store next trip!

I just downloaded the my Disney Experience app too!! I'm excited to try it out.

Mid-life crisis.:rotfl2:

DS10 looks like he's in heaven! And, aren't those 3-d screens cool? They have one at the Lego store in Chicago.

I love Downtown Disney. We've never spent much time in the Lego store. My boys just never really got into it, I guess. (Not gonna lie - I am NOT complaining! :rotfl2: ) That 3d screen seems really neat though!

How did the kids like the Wii game?

ok, I just got an iPhone for my birthday a couple of weeks ago,..what is this Disney app you speak of?!!!!!:scared1: I neeeeed to know about it!!!!

oh my!!! The food at TRex looks SOOO good!!! and the balloon ride looks like a wonderful time too :) I bought a balloon ride over our city for my DD and DH and they woke up at 4:30 am one day to go do it but it was a bit too windy so it got canceled. Now we have it rescheduled so I hope it`s a go this time. Your right - its a hard thing to do bc the weather is very often not ideal for it. Glad it worked out for you guys finally and you had two bonuses to go with it - no line up and child prices :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We love shopping at DTD!! :cool1: But yes, I could do with a little less time in the Lego Store. :faint: I hope Sarah can make up her mind faster than DS10 in there!

You're right we did get 2 bonuses!! :cool1: It was a fun time. I hope your DD & DH get to do the one over your city soon. :)

I searched for wdw countdown. Someone I know had the cutest countdown for their phone she told me to search that. There are a bunch. My Disney Experience is totally different. Haven't looked at that one yet but I will!!

I love afternoons of shopping in DTD. There is always something you need there! ;)

The Lego store is pretty cool. My son Dimitri LOVES it too. I wish were had one closer to home. Why are the mini-figurines so expensive though? Cute little things but spendy.

Great update Shelly! I love the dress you were wearing and also the one you were thinking of buying. :thumbsup2
