Triggerman for Pamela Smart looking for sentence reduction

I'd be inclined to research reasons to let him go at this time. He was 16 at the time of the murder and highly influenced by his 23-year old lover (and teenage hormones). I would never excuse him or his behaviors but how much tax money do I want to put into this one child/man to keep him behind bars. He is now 33 years old, appears to have a good record, and will have to live with his actions for the rest of his years. With any luck at all, his morality meter will be punishment from now until his death.

I can understand looking into it. He's spent over half his life in jail, he seems pretty gounded and has a grasp on the situation. And it appears he's looking to be a productive member of society. After all, without his testimony, they never would have been able to convict Pam Smart.
And I know this isn't the question you asked, but I've got to say, I just don't understand women who marry men who have long term prison sentences. What is going through their mind? I can see developing a friendship and even loving someone - being there to support them and so on, but marrying them??? Once released from prison it totally changes the dynamics of the relationship and I can't imagine marrying someone without knowing what they're like full time, not just on visiting hours twice a week.
