In one year, we will be hosting a small family gathering in a GV and 1bd at SSR. We are looking for an adult dinner for eight at a restaurant that is fun, not too expensive, but not loud and crazy. My DH and I love Bluezoo, but we along for the ride are my parents and my cousin's parents (sibling pairs). The "Grandparents" are in their sixties, have been to Disney a lot and are not impressed easily. They are also amazingly cheap, although both have plenty of money. They are interested in value/experience, but since we are getting a sitter, we are looking for a bit quieter than a kid place.

My cousin and her parents have not been to Disney since EPCOT opened, so don't remember much. My parents have been there with us many times and have eaten many places. We've done WCC, CG, Coral Reef, all the usual suspects. I'd love to do Bluezoo and then Jellyrolls, and we just might, but am looking for new ideas? Anyone?

Now, another question... what about a kid friendly place for everyone? This would qualify as a Magical Gathering, as there will be 13 of us. What about O'Hana? My aunt and uncle love Hawaii, but my aunt also loves to complain, so I am thinking I shouldn't go to the Poly, since she'll just tell us how much better Hawaii is.... :scared:

I really, really want this to be a fun, memorable trip and everyone is letting me do the planning. I am not worried that they will blame me for anything, but I want to really wow them.

Come on Disers, whatta got?

I'd vote for a fixed-price meal, that way, everyone knows what the exact cost will be upfront. I'd pick 'Ohana at the Poly or Biergarten at Epcot, two of our family favorites. They would be good for adults only but are also entertaining enough to bring the kids along should you choose to do so.

Are you hijacking my family and calling them your own? I'm doing the same thing for a trip next year. Yes, I have to think about this eighteen months in advance. Have everything - picky, cheap, young, old, adventerous, stick-in-the-mud, allergeries, and general "I don't see anything I really like, I'll just have a salad and water".

My top two choices right now are Grand Floridian Cafe and Yacht Club Galley. Also been looking at Gulliver's. Oh - and my restriction also is that it can't be in a park because we have a Mr. Grumpy who refuses to step foot into a Disney park.
