Trick-or-Treat w/o MNSSHP?

A friend of mine just e-mailed, saying she will be in WDW for Halloween and wants to take her grandson trick-or-treating at the MK on Oct. 31. I am 99.9% certain that they did not purchase tickets to MNSSHP.

Before I dash her hopes, let me just ask you guys: Does the park do anything for Halloween early in the day for the regular day guests? Or is the party the only way to trick-or-treat at the MK? I'm guessing tickets have been sold out for quite a while for Halloween night, right?

I hate to break the news to her, but I want to let her know what to expect.

Nothing is done during the day. I think they might offer something at Boardwak or DTD. Not sure though. I also thought I read today that there were still tickets available for that night. Can't say for sure. I'd call asap if you want to get tickets.

To my knowledge Halloween night tickets are still available. Also as a ex Castmember who was at MK for both 01 and 02 Halloween. During the Day nothing is done as far as trick or treating goes. The shops and attractions arent the ones who hand out the candys. Special Candy stations which are kept in the backstage areas and tunnels are brought up when the party starts.

Oh yeah I forgot DownTown Disney is a VERY nice place to go Trick or Treating if you cant make it to MNSSHP

Rob -- I was just curious how the Trick-or-Treating worked @ DTD. Are you
saying that we can trick or treat at the stores? Thanks.

When we were there fo MNSSHP, my kids got candy and trinkets from the CMs at our resort (POR) Cute stuff like the fake glasses with the mustache attached, mardi gras beads, and some of the same candy handed out at MNSSHP. Of course, it was the first time I let the kids walk back to the room without me, to find out 'strangers' had approached them to give them candy
