Trees in Seuss Landing

We normally go to US/IOA in the summer and the trees in Seuss Landing are either bare or maybe have leaves on them. We were there on Saturday and noticed that there were no leaves on them, but there were flowers that looked like jonquils or daffodils. I fell in love with these trees! Does anyone know what kind they are?

Yes, we were at Mardi Gras and then there for Sunday and Monday as well. We need to get these things better coordinated!

Thanks! I'll look those up when I get time. I sent a message to Guest Services asking about the trees...Maybe I will get a response and if I do, I'll come back and post what they tell me.

We have one of these trees at our school. It is a Tabebuia tree. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2559/ for some more info. They can be either yellow or pink flowers.

If they do - I may have to grab one or two so the kids can add it to their "educational" report for when they return to school

Thank you! I checked out the website and it looks like they wouldn't grow in Arkansas... I figured that would be the case...I just really loved those trees!

We arrive at MCO 9:30AM on Thursday, June 26th... should be at the resort and checked in by 11AM..... I'd say anytime after that...we'll be around

thats what I call prepared for service. I love the all the plants from the park, especually the bend trees they got from South Florida for Seuss landings.

Today when I got off work, I had a voice mail from a young lady in guest services. I couldn't understand the whole message including her name, but I called the number. The person who answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about, but I told her about the message. She found out who it was and told me that they were Golden Trumpet Trees, which as it turns out is a common name for Tabebuia trees, just like rangebob said, but now we have something simple to call them....I'm not sure I know how to pronounce Tabebuia...
