Does anyone remember the resort treehouses they advertised years ago. Are they still in existence? What were they like. Where were they. I remember always wanting to try them when I was young, but when actually scheduling my trips I book the POLY.

I think they are still in existance but they were part of the Disney Institute which is going thru a make over. I don't know what is to become of them. I always wanted to stay in one but we have always opted for a great pool and the monorail resorts. Does anyone really know what is going to happen to the treehouses?

The are renovating and changing the name to "Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa". Huge makeover with big barbeque area, shuffleboards, restaurants, etc. It will remind you of a New York resort area of say Long Island.....can't wait for a new resort to check out.

Yes, they over by the Disney Institute -- not sure what is in store for them in the future.

Basically, they were a sort of round, modern 70's style , detached townhouse. There was lots of glass windows.

You walked in at the lower level there was a modern spiral staircase leading to 2nd floor. Lower level had a bedroom and 1/2 bath.

Second floor had a kitchen, living room, and bedroom and bath.
Again, very modern designed. There was a large deck.

They are along the river in between DTD and POFQ

My dvc guide told me they are tearing down the tree houses to build the newest dvc resort. I believe on the dvc board I read someone saw they are slready tearing them down.

I don't think they are tearing them down, but they are renovating them. You can see some of them from the waterway that goes between PO, OKW and DD. We are DVC members at OKW and rent a pontoon boat to "cruise" on that waterway on every trip we take.

In March 2000, we could see they were renovating the treehouses along the water. They completely gutted them out to the bare framing and were re-building them. In March 2001, the ones right by the water were back to normal, but some treehouses further in were gutted out and being re-built. So, it doesn't make sense that they would tear down the treehouses just after they finished renovating them.
