Treehouse Parking

I just read that each treehouse only has one parking space. We are going to be staying there at the end of August and we will have two cars in our group so that would be quite a problem.

Anyone else have experiences with this?

There is only one parking space per villa. You will have to park the second vehicle at the Grandstand section and walk (or drive the other car) over to it.

this is exactly what we were told too. This is why we have no plans to stay there. Sounds like a PITA. I read that you have to park your second vehicle at checkin. Also if you come in a night and a neighbor is parked in your spot, that too would be a stressful situation. Maybe you'll get luck and your neighbor won't have a car....good luck.

When we were there, all of the spots always seemed to be full. The spots are kind of out on the street, not pulled up in the driveway area of the treehouse. We had the villa 2nd from the entrance which was great with the car but it was about a 15 minute walk to Grandstand.

thanks for the info. I had no idea the spots are not pull in type of spots. I guess I'm thinking the spots were like the Ft. W campers.

They are pull in spots (as opposed to parallel parking) but they are not by your treehouse. They are grouped together on the street; ours was across the street from our villa; there were several parking spaces grouped together for the various villas in that area. The villa had a very nice driveway but it was no parking. The group of parking spaces by our villa was always full, one car for each villa.

So it seems important, that if one party tried to park 2 cars in that area, they are preventing another resident from their alloted parking spot. I hope folks are considerate, and consider everyone, not just themselves.

Are they marked with villa numbers or is there just an unwritten rule as to where to park? We drive to WDW but we the car never leaves the spot while we are there. We love WDW transportation too much.

There aren't numbers. In our case, there were 2 treehouses side by side and the 2 parking spaces were sort of in front of one of the treehouses. Our parking was very convenient.

I think if we ever had 2 cars, my DS would more or less make it a game. He would park at Grandstand and have a race with his kids back to the treehouse. Our family really enjoyed the treehouse stay, but we're now out of SSR points until 2012.

I wonder if people have been lucky to get one at 7 months. I'm going to try for our fall stay.

Well, we would hope that everyone would be considerate and only take one space but considering how rude some people are I am sure that is not the case. I personally think the space should be numbered to match the villas.

Also please be considerate of those staying at the Grandstand and park the extra car away from the buildings. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Grandstand this past trip, and I wondered about the far away cars. I thought it was people who "love WDW transporatation", but it may have been considerate Treehouse Villa guests :thumbsup2

Anyway, we always found a space reasonably close to our building, and I think we used our car every day we were there.

We had no problems at all with parking during our THV stay. I guess we were lucky and most of the other guests had flown and didn't have cars. LoL Only one night we returned and a large SUV was parked across several spots on our side. We just parked across the street that was completely empty. I think possibly they were packing to leave or something because we never saw that car again. It seemed though as we drove through the treehouse areas that there was alot of open spaces for parking.

While yes it can be a PITA, putting a bunch of parking spots in the area would completely ruin the feel of the villa's. The roads are only one lane and it is a heavily wooded area. If we ever have two cars there (maybe next year) our plan will be simple, we will drop everyone off at the villa, both drivers will go over and drop one car at the Carousel lot (just inside the SSR main gate) and carpool back over. If we happen to be close to the grandstand walkway, then one driver will just go over to the parking lot of grandstand and walk back.

A LOT of people make the walk around THV's out to be some huge obstacle, but in fact it is a pretty small area. It takes 5 minutes to walk from grandstand to the about half of the villas and 10 minutes to the rest.....honestly, the walk is less than the lobby to most villas in any DVC resort!!!

Thanks for asking the question. I am planning our first treehouse stay. The information given will be very helpful.:goodvibes
