Another early morning for the extra magic hour at Animal Kingdom. Off to Expedition Everest first and we all enjoy it although Vicky did not see the Yetti as she had her eyes closed.
Next to the brilliant Dinosaur which never fails. Another favorite for newbies is Tough to be a Bug and again did not disappoint.
A quick photo before the safari
We managed to see quite a few animals today and our guide on the ride was excellent though we did not hear him call out for Little Red only the baby elephant was mentioned.
We now go on the rapid ride and of course all of us get soaking wet. We walk through the trek to dry off and have to visit my favorite bats.
We are now ready to go back to the treehouse to change (I put on my newest Disney dress)and Vicky makes up a picnic lunch as we are planning to hire a boat from downtown disney and relax. Vicky also makes up the delicious Lunar Landing (peach snapps, amaretto and orange) using the T-Rex shaker (note: need to remember to bring a small hand blender next year) and we put them into empty plastic water bottles. Vicky and Des have brought a cool bag with them so we load some ice (from the wonderful ice maker, have I mentioned the wonderful ice maker before??) beers and bagels and cream cheese and some doughnuts and off we go. We get a 30% discount with our annual pass and hire the brilliant suntracker.
We then spend a wonderful afternoon sailing past downtown disney
past Port Orleans and the Treehouses
The sun is shining and our lunch is delish especially with our drinks
We also go past Old Key West. We all had a great time and was one of our highlights of the holiday
and finally back to downtown disney
It was very hot and we stop for an ice cream
We go back to the Treehouse and have a dip in the pool
We are back to T-Rex tonight. Again the boat from the Treehouse is quck and we chat to the captain. We are seated and again The five of us are squashed into a table for four but this time ask to move and we get a much better booth with a great waiter who takes a shine to Kirsty and wants her to give the dinosaur a drink
We order cocktails and I go for something different this time, but just as nice
This is our starters
It seemed even louder in T-Rex tonight (but it could have been the afternoon drinks) and it was a relief when we left as my head was pounding)
We got the boat back to the Treehouse and I must have fallen asleep really quickly as I don't remember much else. We had managed to do quite a bit today and was tired.
