Tree House Villas Points Confirmed

Im normally as squeamish as they come, but on our first trip to Florida, someone told us that when it comes to alligators, expect to find them in all bodies of water.

I have grown accustomed to the lizards and would rather have spiders than mosquitos or flies.

I've been to the campgrounds and Disney has a pretty good handle on things there and the THV will be 10 ft off the ground.

Also, it's not like the THV area has been abandoned all these years. The CPers were living there and guests before that. No reports of anyone drug off by a pack of tree-climbing alligators, so Im looking forward to my stay!:goodvibes

My rep confirmed today that the points for the new treehouse villas will be the same as the regular 2 bedroom units at saratoga springs.

I've been saying this since the Tuesday announcement but I'll feel much better once DVC puts it in writing. Until then it's certainly a non-binding commitment. :goodvibes

Just to ad to the thread, when I spoke with my guide yesterday he too indicated that the THV's were to be priced he same as 2bedroom villas. We didn't talk opening dates but he believed there were two HA accessible units in the project. He was checking to see how that accessibility was achieved (ramp or lift).

If they open June 1, then I'll be among the speed dialers trying to switch my dedicated 2bedroom June 21 to a THV. Probably going to be tricky because I need to get on the horn to special services too. Maybe Grand Gatherings will help me out.

  I am so glad to hear this!!!

Did I understand that correctly?

But, aren't they 3 BR's

Does anyone know if you can use Developer Points There?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

The THV are three bedrooms, but I believe they will only sleep 9 people, so they are more inline with a 2 bedroom villa. Two bedrooms with a queen bed, 1 bdrm with bunk beds, and I think I read that the living room would have a sleep sofa and a sleep chair that converts to a twin size bed.

This is great news! I'll be calling promptly at 9am on Feb 1st in hopes of grabbing a THV for Dec 16-22. Sounds like so much fun!

Can anyone answer the question as to the cash value for the THV? Are they going to be the same as the 2 bedroom's at SS?

I was told by MS that the opening day for booking would be Feb 8th. (for stays beginning June 1st.)

Back to the snake thing...Our last trip in May when we stayed at SSR facing DTD, there was a huge black snake that slithered accross the sidewalk right in front of us while on a walk. That just happened to be our first time out of dozens that weve ever stayed on ground floor. The weather was beautiful and we wished to keep the patio door open to enjoy the weather especially in the evening, but that scared me to death. I know Disney does a great job of keeping things wonderful and how could they possibly keep up on everything in nature, but that left a lasting impression so I understand your concern.

That's an interesting combo of types of beds. I like the Q beds in separate rooms.

I thought the treehouses had been torn down, are they being built from scratch, or just renovated?

This info has just tweaked an interest in me in SSR that I never had before.

Does the treehouse area have it's own pool?

Decisions...decisions....do we stay in the treehouses for our 8/09 trip or do we keep our 2br at SSR????? :rolleyes1 Guess I should call our friends and ask what they would like!

Hi Bobbi, I've read that the THV will have a pool and boat dock. :wizard:

I normally love the King size bed, but we are willing to give that up (we have a qn @ home) to get bunk beds and another QN. My MIL may travel with us and we could give her a bedroom to herself, Put the boys in 1 room, and we would still have room to sleep 3 in the living area if needed. (I dont hope to need it, but we all know how family trips are:goodvibes )

The more I think about THV, the more excited I get. It will definitely be different, but it opens up so many more affordable options for family groups.:wizard:

I doubt that has been determined yet.

In fact, it's possible that the treehouses will not be bookable by cash guests. Disney has done this before. The Standard View and BoardWalk View rooms at BWV are available for points stays only.

Rebuilt from scratch.

Does the treehouse area have it's own pool?

Yes, but it should be the "quiet pool" style.

I love going to WDW with our DGC, and even though DVC says a 2 bedroom in most fits 8, for us, it really doesn't. I would love to give DS and DDiL their own bedroom, we would have one, and the kids, well...there's 2 girls and a boy, and I'll be somehow they could fit, even if it does mean that someone does sleep in the living area. As the DGC are getting older, now 3, 4 and 5, I was sad about thinking DH and I would be staying in a studio while they all sleep in the 2 bedroom, but THIS way, we could all be in the same villa without us having to always have a GV. I was not planning to add on this year, I really wasn't, but now, I just don't know. I feel so torn...I did not expect this happening, and I really am happy for SSR owners. I cannot imagine that these accomodations will be available at 7 months out.

PS. Another question...how many bathrooms? ....and locations?

Is this information anywhere on the member site?

Does this mean another round of SSR points for sale? If so, will they have the same expiration?

Two bathrooms--one attached to the master bedroom and the other accessible via the hallway. Nothing on the member website yet. With BLT sales ready to start and the Treehouse point sales still up in the air, I think DVC put most of their energy into BLT.

Doc put together a post with some details on the Treehouses, but I can't find it right now. Anyone else have a link?

I posted some info here along with a floorplan of the treehouses.

Yes and yes. Same condo association thus the ending date should be the same.

Collectively the treehouses are a little bigger than one of the 18 buildings already open at the resort. So they should open up sales again sometime in the next few months. In the meantime, there are a lot of resales on the market.

Some have suggested that DVC will try to sell SSR points without incentives. I just don't see that happening. They aren't investing millions in this Treehouse project just to have the points languish indefinitely in Developer inventory.
