Tree House Villas Points Confirmed

I'm not so afraid at BCV or SSR but the THV area seems to be a lot darker. I might not know he's there until I fell over him!:scared1:

That's what I'm thinking. And 4ft. ain't so little in my book. Anything over six inches is way too big as far as I'm concerned. Anyone know how big the teeth are in a 4ft. gator? :confused3 I can't wait to see real pictures of the THV's and I'd love to stay there but this gets me a bit freaked. Maybe they should screen in the decks? :lmao:

Okay, now I know that I am not just a worry wort. That was exactly what I was talking about.:scared1:

Then I probably shouldn't mention that gators are found all over property, huh? ;) They've found them at Fort Wilderness, SSR, OKW, POR and other locations. Anywhere there is water in Florida there might be alligators. DCL usually relocates them to the far side of Bay Lake where they have a wildlife preserve, and they usually get them before they are too big.

That said, we stayed in the former THV once and the only thing we had to watch out for were the peacocks. They were EVERYWHERE! One even pecked most of the paint off of the rear quarter panel of a car parked near ours. Apparently this car was parked in a service lane and somehow the peacock knew it wasn't supposed to be there. It never touched any of the other cars in the area...just that one. The owners/renters of the car never seemed to use it as it was always in that same place and was never gone. I can only imagine their shock when they saw the damage!

There are definitely gators. We befriended the Beach Club Villa gator in August 2006 when he was in the canal and came over to pose for pics. We were above him but he came pretty close in the water. They took him out in 2007 and the CMs all knew about him when we saw him the year before.

This year we talked to a CM at the Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon and he said there was a gator in the woods near a TL canal/waterway that they had to wait to remove until her eggs were hatched.

So I always assume that where there's water, there may be gators:)

My dh always comments on whether there are ducks in the water. He always jokes that no ducks mean the alligators already had lunch!

If the points are the same as a 2 bdrm does that mean the dollar amount would be the same also if we wanted to pay cash?

I am very Happy For SSR owners. I think success at the 7 month window will be tough for non owners.

Will CRO hold back any for cash? I wonder.

Oh this just makes my night!! I'm going to book a 2 bedroom at SSR for next Sept at the 11 month mark and switch it over to a THV Feb 1st!

I sure hope us SSR owners have a bit of a head start! Actually, if I do the math correctly the time I will be going next year (mid Sept) will still be beyond the 7 month mark for non SSR owners so I should be good!!

HEY FRIEND!!!! My 7 month window for my dates in July are in Dec. SO as long as I book before then for my 2 br.....hopefully I will be okay too.

Do we know yet whether everyone can book on 1st Feb, or whether it will only be open to SSR owners to start with? :confused3
Would love to book for August 09, but do not own at SSR so fingers crossed!!:lovestruc

Bear with me here. :confused3 ....if I want to book a stay at THV for 8/9 through 8/12/09 then I should book my 2 bedroom now (current SSR owner with February use year) and hopefully be able to change to THV (could I auto wait list that request)? That way when reservations open on February 1st my reservation would be automaticly switched? That would be awesome..... or am I just dreaming?!

You certainly can book the 2br unit now, just to be sure you have something - but until the THV are actually listed in the system you cant be put on a waitlist that doesn't exist... the program has no clue what to look for. However, if the waitlist is totally done by hand (and I cringe at this thought) they may be able to put something together earlier.

They are supposed to give SSR owners a priority of some sort- some are saying 2 weeks- then they will open it up to everyone. Since there is such a short window for ssr owners maybe you will get lucky- call on the very 1st day you are allowed!

Yay!! Thanks for the great news!!! Here's hoping we are able to get THV the week before xmas!!!

Did I understand that correctly?

But, aren't they 3 BR's

Does anyone know if you can use Developer Points There?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

My guess would be yes if ressie was within 7 months. Our developer points we got could only be used within the 7 month window.

I am glad to be an SSR owner and hope to stay in a THV in the future. The one thing I remember about the old ones was the Huge spiderwebs that we saw on one trip down the river from PO probably in 1997. I have never seen any like them since but they were clearly visible from the boat. I am thinking they have some type of pest control that will keep the creatures of that sort down.

The idea of snakes is definitely a bit creepy. On another note, I got some GREAT pictures of a gator in the water at SSR! We were walking over the bridge in the morning to get breakfast and there he was in the water hanging out.

I got bitten by a tarantula in Haiti this summer, so spiders don't really scare me (too much!) and snakes...I think I can handle (maybe!), but that alligator...HOLY MOLEY!! I can only hope Disney has a good handle on this!! :scared1:
