There aren't really places for something as large as a cruise ship to berth further down.

Not in Manhattan, no. The QM2 home ports in Brooklyn though.

The couple I ended up hanging out with to watch it had some fun theories. The husband made a crack about having to stop for gas in Jersey

Yes, she's docked back at 88 now. I guess she couldn't just hang out in the middle of the river all night lol!

I work in a high rise on 9th ave & 32nd st, so I wonder if I can see the ship! Do you know when it'll likely be leaving on Nov 20th? I have a clear view of the Hudson, so I'd definitely be able to see the ship leaving. Not sure about at the port.

Someone posted around 3 pm on Wednesday she is leaving.

It was so funny, I got over to 88 after work and parked myself on the bridge across the street that goes to the Intrepid for what I thought was the perfect view…then she started moving south. I freaked out and power walked like I was rope dropping HS…ran into a couple along the way doing the same thing and we literally chased the ship ended up watching the whole show together and made friends.

Oh, and we saw the Destiny too!

I can't find anything about Project NYC 718 so I'm not sure it's something different. Being at the exact same time in the exact same place on a non-holiday as the Treasure Christening is too much to be a coincidence. Of course I could be dead wrong, but knowing the city permitting process, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a company that Disney subbed out the fireworks to or used as a shell to keep the fireworks on the dl.

Just like she wasn't on the Manhattan Passenger Ship Terminal schedule except for a brief time back in March. Then she was taken off the schedule and never put back on even though she is clearly docked there!! I think she was posted on it back in March accidentally.

Thats so nice!! I was on that bridge taking pics of the ship yesterday and while walking back to the ferry smiled at a lady wearing a Disney shirt (I had my Wish jacket on) and later in a FB group she asked if I happened to be walking away from the ship at a certain time....it happened to be her that I smiled at. Small world!!

Thanks for posting the heads up! After I saw your post I looked for her out my window. And then eventually went down to Pier 62 for the drone show. It was amazing!

Awesome!! I’m so glad you got to see it, it really was breathtaking in person. And the ship is so gorgeous. Intellectually I know how big they are, I mean we were just on the Wish in September. But it really hammers it home to see it basically in my backyard, and the AquaMouse towering over buildings!

Ha yep, I'm a TA, and I was talking to our Disney Rep last spring. I kind of jokingly hinted how many tours they we're going to have when the Treasure is in NY and she was shocked that people figured it out.

I was able to watch from Pier 57 and it was pretty crowded, probably over 500 people. Loved the drone show. I'm hoping this means they'll return in 2026. Can't imagine them going all out like this for a port and market they're going to completely abandon.

I watched it with a tiny handful of people up at 62 and besides not really hearing the music it was a fantastic view. I am desperate for them to come back here so i hope you’re right. Why have all this pomp and ceremony but not put a ship here?? Even if it’s not one of the newer ones.

I was surprised how few people there were at pier 62!
