Thanks for the heads up cap'n, unfortunately we can't stay here again as last time we stayed here ds2 freaked out because it was too noisy. (we couldn't hear much at all) He finally went to sleep wearing his big over ear headphones.

Oh thanks for that. Our departure on Christmas eve has changed to 08.35 from 09.53 because of the tunnel fire (although we haven't been told this by Eurostar... we happened to find out when DH went to the station for another reason!). To get there in time for new check in meant we would be leaving on a train to get to St Pancras at 05.30 - at tad too early with a 4 yr old! I looked the other day and room prices at the Kings Cross Travel Lodge were nearly £50 so that will be a bargain! I'll be at the ready at 6am!

I don't know whether to go for the London Kings Cross royal scot or the farringdon one....
