I have a room booked for my family, me, husband, and both kids at Royal Pacific Resort for 8/18/13-8/19/13 with Travelocity. I got a 10% discount code and my total came out to $223.52.

And I went online at Orbitz and ran the same date with just me and my husband with a 15% discount code and it came out to $230.69. Exact same room.

Can't figure what the deal is with this one.:crazy2:

Those third-party websites buy blocks of rooms. Each negotiates their own price, I beleive, so the room can be priced differently on each site.

That is exactly right. Especially if they say they are some kind of special rate.

Does one have the resort fee included? Sometimes they do, sometimes you have to pay at checkin.

Check out Trivago.com They're supposed to compare prices from all the travel sites.

One of the sites has a booking fee....I thought it was travelocity. I know Expedia does not have a fee.

In the fine print here is what I found on Orbitz

In addition, the "Taxes and Fees" line includes a fee we charge and retain in exchange for the services we provide in facilitating your transaction with the hotel supplier.

And remember neither one of the sites collect the parking fee of $18 you will have to pay that when you check in.

Yep. I was pricing AKL on Orbitz. I priced it with the 30% off plus if you used a code (SUNFUN15) it gave you another 15% off. So a 45% discount. I was just so excited! Until I ran the numbers on the Disney site with the 30% off and it was cheaper:confused3

(Same room, same dates too)

Kinda like Orbitz has some funny math going on. Just like they like to charge for children in the room when Disney does not. That is the biggest BS. I will probably never use Orbitz as I see that they seem to be shady.

But I also can't find where Travelocity charges any types of fees at all. My room in Valdosta and at Royal Pacific Resort are both paid in full for my whole family.
