We have been on two other DCL cruises so we know how everything works for us but this time we are bringing my mother along. She is in a wheelchair and we are looking at reserving one of the 1 bedroom handicap accessible suites on deck 8. Has anyone ever stayed in these? Are they nice? Can a person in a wheelchair see over the deck rail? Also, does anyone know how the evacuation drill works when you have a wheelchair?

Thanks!

Two years ago we travelled with my MIL and FIL, they have a wheelchair bound child. They stayed in handicap room 6154 with a metal verandah. You can not see over the metal verandah from sitting in a wheelchair or sitting in any chair, unless you're just looking up to the sky.

The handicap rooms were very big and roomy, but find one with a plexiglass verandah.
