This will be our 3rd trip, but first with a baby. He will be 6 months.

Question 1, cots. we are staying at the nbc. will they automatically have a cot in the room, knowing his d.o.b on the order or do i need to request it. are they ok condition and what bedding will come with it. will we still be put in a standard room, or will we get something bigger as we have 2 other children.

question2, baby food. Where can we get baby food in dis? do you know what brand it is and a rough idea of price? we will of only just started weaning so dont wanna use anything i dont know.

question 3,breastfeeding. iv never noticed anyone doing it before, how do the rest of europe view it? over here i know my rights and feel safe in our country even if some people are rude. I dont wanna find out its against the law or anything.

many thanks,

very excited sian x

1. We didn't get given a cot automatically, we had to ask for one. The cots have always been in good condition, but the bedding wasn't soft, and was a bit random- eg a thin cotton sheet in winter one time, and a thick blanket last time we went in June! So I'd advice bringing your own stuff from home, plus it'll be what your baby is used to.

2. They will put you in a standard room unless you pay for an upgrade to a bigger room (that's if they do bigger rooms at NPB- don't know if they do)

3. If I remember correctly the under 1 year baby food was Nestle, one which we don't have in the UK. It tasted more sugary than our UK ones, so I'd bring my own if I were you, at least for main meals, just in case your baby doesn't like what's offered. Plus not every restaurant had baby food available, and in some instances was the wrong age range.

4. I've always seen plenty of women discretely breastfeeding in Disney, but there is a sepcific room for breastfeeding with chairs in the babycare centre in Main Street.

DLP is a brilliant place for babies, it's so well organised and is so stress free compared to bringing a baby to a theme park in the UK. You'll have a brilliant time!

glad someone mentioned this we will be going in september (27) and i will have a 2 month old ( i think so i aint given birth yet lol) we staying at dlh so hoping it will work out with feeding etc

We went when our DD was 4months and stayed at the New York.
I couldn't breastfeed, so we had to bring formula and due to my ocd found it much easier to bring a case full of ready made formula. Sterilising was a nightmare, we took a cold water sterilser but forgot washing up liquid so struggled to clean bottles as the hotel had nothing.
We did ask for a cot, but it wasn't the nicest, but luckily we had taken a small pop up travel bed for her (koodee make) and just popped her in there.
As she was only 4months food wasn't an issue but if it were me I would have taken my own as it seems in France nestle have the monoply on babyfood/milk which I won't buy on ethical grounds.
The park is very child friendly, it was such an easy holiday. Very hot though and we were very grateful for the sun cover we bought for the pram.

Enjoy

Just a thought, we did Baby Led Weaning with DD, where she ate what we ate - as long as it wasn't too processed, salty, sugary or had honey. It made eating out & travelling really easy. We never had any problems with gagging or choking & was way easier than spoon feeding.

If you're still bfing baby will be still be getting most of it's nutrient from the breastmilk, so you don't need to worry :)

Have a lovely trip :thumbsup2

thanks everyone for your advice.

would i need to contact them in advance for the cot or will i just do it there?

we plan to do baby led weaning, however on our last trip we came down with the most horrendous s&d. iv never known anything like it! its just made me really worried about what i give the baby over there.

:sad1: @ S&D

At 6 months I doubt baby will be eating anything in volume. DD was on bits of chips, veg, fruit, bread with things on, rice cakes - things that are easy to hold & gum.

I'm not a food poisoning expert, but I guess as long as any veg was cooked & fruit / salad washed you'd be OK.

We're veggy, so I didn't have to worry about seafood, meat or fish.

You could take some of the organix bars & corn snacks. Beware of the carrot sticks, babies love them, but they stain.

I meant to have a look at bfing in france for you, will try & remember.

BLW is tons of fun

tones of mess, lol

thanks for the advise.

im not happy unless im stressing about something.

im thinking about just taking the cartons of milk and some cold water steriliser bags and a small travel size washing up liquid - going to take a cheapy double buggy as baby can then lay down = a sling so can see if i can always park buggy up and carry baby and my daughter who is 4 can always jump in the buggy if her legs get tired... only thing im worried about is how im going to get this all on the sodding train :confused3

We went to wdw when dd was 6 months and just took the milton tablets for sterilising, worked really well, also took our own baby food as she had just started weaning and the ellas pouches worked really well. We tried babyled weaning and it just didnt work for us so be prepared just in case or you can get a handheld food mill in boots to make you own baby food on the go. As for the cots i always bring my own travyel matress (fold fairly small) as i dont think babies should sleep on shared matresses, wouldnt do it at hokme so wouldnt do it on holiday and a sheet from home so it smells familiar and also dd has sensitive skin so it stops any allergies etc. Have fun

Just from amazon but they also sell them in mothercare and maybe argos. Its been well wort it for us anid has been to florida, paris, irland so has been well used, i think it was about fifteen pound.
