how do you all travel to the airport with a toddler to DLP? we may not have anyone available to take/collect us, and with our flight times we unsure if we'll be awake enough to drive ourselves. obviously my main concern is my little fella. we've never been abroad with him before, so unsure what the safest option is.

can anyone help?

We usually book a Travelodge/Premier Inn at the airport if we have an early flight.

I'm planning to go abroad with son at some point and plan to stay at travel lodge etc near airport then get shuttle transfers/taxis from abroad airport etc. I know to DLP you can book vea shuttle transfers or something like that. Try searching online

We always just get a taxi to the airport from home (we're only around 30min away from it) and when my brother was younger he was awake and excited in the taxi/airport and then slept on the plane.

We never took him to DLP until he was around 5, but we used the VEA shuttle then and still do now that he's 12. I know a lot of people prefer private shuttles over the VEA but to us the VEA is all part of the experience, being on a bus full of excited, smiling kids just warms your heart :goodvibes

im very carseat safety concious, and concerned about travelling in a taxi without one. is that the norm nowadays when u travel abroad and getting to/from the aiport?

Guess taxis getting to airport are easier than thinking about parking for you car. I don't drive and don't have people to drop me off so that would be easier option for me.

We always drive to the airport and leave our car there. On most of our previous trips to DLP we have used Ezyshuttle for transfers from CDG and they always provide age appropriate car seats. We used them for the first time when DS was 5 mths old.

estoleno - bit :offtopic: but I just noticed your panoramic photo in your signature. How funny, as it's almost exactly the same as the photo my DH took on our new camera that takes multiple panoramic shots which is so clever! It's here in my TR - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2941813&page=3 ;). What camera did you use to take it? Wonder if it's the same model?!
