I was wondering my GGrandma is 75 and she is ok to walk but I am wondering do you think she would be better off in a wheel chair?? We are going to be a party of 7 so we could take turns pushing. I guess my guestion is do they rent ECV in WDW or do we need to get an outside rental?? Thanks for the help!!

Check out post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread for information about renting wheelchairs and ECVs.

Whether or not your GGrandma will need a wheelchair or ECV depends a lot on her and her abilities. We have been to WDW numerous times with older people (as old as 83!). Some needed an ECV because they had physical problems that made walking difficult. Some were fine with all the walking; it all depends on the person and their physical condition.

It also depends on your touring style - if you are 'stop and smell the roses' type tour-ers, there is more chance for resting. As my mom said, you may be walking a lot over the course of the day, but it's in little bits and pieces.
If you are commando tourers, she may need an ECV or wheelchair even if she is in good shape.

As far as wheelchair or ECV, which is best will again depend on her.
Some people do not like being dependent on someone else to push them and want the independence of driving themselves with an ECV. Others would rather be pushed and not have to worry about watching out for other people.
If she still drives a car, she will probably feel more confident using an ECV than if she does not or has never driven. It does take a certain amount of concentration to drive an ECV, so even though it may be less physically tiring than walking, it may be mentally tiring.
WIth 7 people, you should be able to switch off pushing; that would help.
