traveling with multiples!!

Lisa,

WOW the first day of school already...WOW...congrats on going back to work...
I totally agree that each family should be able to decide upon or if they want their mulitples split up...as a former teacher I have seen it backfire with them being split up....

Hi Everyone,

Hope I can jump in here,

I just had B/G twins 4 weeks ago, born 34 weeeks preemie, but doing well.

Also have a 5 yo DS. Planning our first WDW trip w/ the twins in June 07.

I love reading all of the tips and advice on this thread. It was a great idea to start it.

WOW Tinkybell. Welcome to the world of multiples and to our thread. You have so much fun in store for you. Are your babies home with you yet? All I can say about a trip in June 07 is Don't be in a hurry to see or do everything while you are at WDW. Patience will sure help you a bunch. (both at WDW and at home! :thumbsup2 ) You will find lots of great advice and encouragement on this thread and with other mothers of multiples! Enjoy....(and sleep whenever you can sneak in a nap)!

Lisa-WOW, school is all year round for your kids. How do you like that? I'm glad the school will work with you and let you choose to keep your twins in the same class. Our schools didn't do that. They were able to stay together in Kindergarten, but after that they were split until high school. It caused numerous problems that the schools didn't understand. They did much better when they were back together. I think it is best for the parents to work with the schools and make the decision...not just a policy that works for some but not others. OK...time to get off of my high horse! :teacher: :teacher:

Enjoy your summers.

I like the year round schooling. The kids get bored so quickly over the summer, so 6 to 7 weeks off is perfect! The best part is that we're on one of our breaks in October and that's usually when we take a vacation, the weather is nicer and there are less crowds.

The twins are doing pretty good in kindergarten. I, too, was thrilled that they honored my request to put them in the same classroom. I think it really helped with being away from home all day. We've had a few tears but they have willingly gone on the bus each day. The tears are from small things and I think it's just because they're so overwhelmed with everything but so far so good, they're handling it well! :Pinkbounc

we're going in mid-october, can't wait! when are you going?

twinstuff is awesome. lots of great forums for parents of twins, and twins themselves, all divided by ages (I spend most time on the twins age 1-5 board ). great resource. I found it when I was pg with the twins and it was a godsend.

We're going end of September! Thought we'd fit Disney in in our drive down the Eastern Seaboard. :moped:

Have to pay for the girls now, who just turned 4....

Also going to a twin birthday party at the Boardwalk Villas (my cousin's kids).

And our favorite favorite of all time children's music artist Dan Zanes is performing at MGM when we will be there (just posted about that).....just found out by accident. So pysched!

Oh how cool...did you already buy your tickets???? SInce the price went up today..

Oh mtemm do nto be nervous anything we can do to help here let us know...!!!!

We've had a busy summer, too. Our swim lessons and camp went well. My twins did one week of camp separate (DD wanted a princess camp). They did fine.

I agree parents should have the choice on whether too keep kids together or apart in the classroom. The school we chose let's us decide.

We are just back a week from our 7 night cruise. It was great. Hectic but great.

If anyone has any questions fire away.

Hope everyone is well. :sunny:

Hi everyone1

All my plans have been finalized. :cool1: We are heading down on September 27 and staying for a week. We are going to be at Marriot Horizons for 4 nights and than move to Vistana Village for 3 nights.

We have plans to got to the Mickey's Halloween Party on 10/2. My two girls are getting hair and makeup done at BBB and then we have reservations at 1900 Park Fare before heading to the party.

The only reservation that we didn't get yet (but I am trying everyday) is for Chef Mickeys on 9/27...I thought it would be a fun way to start the vacation!

Needless to say, I am so excited. This will be the first trip as a complete family! The twins haven't been on an airplane before so they are going aroung just saying, "Jet Blue...Jet Blue".

Hope all your planning is going well! :cheer2:

Hello All! :wave2: Kristin, did you get your tickets?

You all must be so excited about your upcoming trips! :cloud9:

I can't remember if I mentioned it here, but I was planning to separate my twins this year for 3rd grade, and the teacher advised me against it. I was pleasantly surprised. She felt they get along well and have no issues that would require separation, so hey, who am I to argue with her? LOL

I also wanted to tell you guys who were so nice to me here in understanding what I posted at the beginning of this thread about putting our frozen embryos up for adoption. We recently got word that the baby was born. Seeing her picture brought out some strong, but expected, emotions, but we were happy we'd made the decision we did. It was a win/win for everyone. Thank you for your support in this. It's not easy for everyone to understand.

I've been reading most of the posts and have been gathering some great advice. though I'd finally join the action...here goes...

I have fraternal sons, Connor and David, who are 19 months old. My dh and I are planning a trip to WDW in November with the boys. It will be thier first overnight trip anywhere so I'm a little anxious. We are staying at the Poly so hopefully the convience of the monorail makes things easy for us. We were engaged in WDW and went back for our honeymoon so it only seems fitting that we go.
