traveling with multiples!!

Although there ARE mostly identical twins, there are alor of fraternal twins also, and it is still just as neat for them to be there too. This Twins Days rund from a Friday to a Sunday, and on Saturday moring there is a town parade. First, it's a normal parade, firetrucks, nice cars, horses, clowns, etc, but then toward the end here come ALL the twins, just walking, or some are riding bikes, rollerblades, dressed up, dressed alike, etc etc, however you want to be. You can just be in plain clothes and simpley walk, or whatever, but then there is always a float that says something about being fraternal and the float is always full of kids still dressed alike (just to show who the twins are) but they might look completely different, including boy-girl twins. Its so much fun. After the parade (usually lasts a good hour or so) then they end up at a high school where there are crafts and stuff (trinket-y stuff like that) but more importantly there are colleges there that perform a bunch of tests on willing twins, such as taste tests, vision test, hearing, etc, and they even have a DNA test they can do for you to see how identical you are. They also have a booth where there's a divider between the twins and then the person doing the test will say something like "scratch your nose", or "turn around" and as the twins do it you can see how much they are alike/disalike by the direction they turn, the hand they use to scratch, etc. They have a neat talent show going on all day Saturday and SUnday, and just lots of FUN!
Okay- enough, I get going and can't stop!

Hi! I found this sight last night and thought that it would be great to learn more about the ins and outs of Disney - now I can hear about it from those with multiples that have made the journey.

I have gggb quads that will be 5 in March. They were born at 34 weeks and are very excited about going to Disney. We live in PA and are planning on driving down. I also have an 8 year old boy. This will be our first family vacation since the quads were born. When our quads were 12 wks old we opened a Subway restaurant and just recently sold it so we are now free!!
My husband and I did take a vacation to Hawaii almost 2 years ago so now it's the whole family's turn!

Although I wish I could still stuff their little legs in the quad stroller :) - it is nice that they will be able to maneauver on their own in the Magic Kingdom!!

I look forward to reading everyone's posts!

I posted here a few months ago and now my b/g twins are 10 months old (today actually!). We are going to WDW in April and I am SO excited!!

Seems like I have more time these days (how I don't know since they are crawling) to get on The Dis so I want to welcome all the newbies!! If anyone has experience with bringing their multiples to WDW around a year old.....tell me all about it!!! We plan on taking our time and sticking to the babies' home schedules of course. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!!

HI everyone just wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR and hopefully things have calmed down for everyone and we can begin chatting again..

Happy New year ALL!!!!!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and magical 2007

HI everyone,

My name is Kim and we have b/g 15 month old twins. We are new members to SSR and are heading out in May (first or second week) for a week long vacation...this will be the twins first time to WDW! John and I have been there 4 times in the last 4 years....yes it just made sense to buy the vacation club! We plan on going once per year as we live in Canada so it is quite a travel adventure for us.

I look forward to chatting with you all, I have noticed that most of you have posted about your labour here is ours.....the kids were born at 34 weeks with I week spent in the NICU....They are doing great and I can't believe that they were ever 4 lbs..!

HOpe to get to know you all well and perahps even see you at the parks sometime.

Best wishes

Kim

Best wishes

They were born at 36 1/2 weeks and spent just shy of 2 weeks in the NICU. They couldn't be more different...from looks to personalities. My son has a good 4 inches and 10 pounds on my daughter. I sometimes get asked the difference in their age. I say...about 20 minutes. :rotfl:

Their pictures (from Halloween this year) are below...sorry for the size. Don't have the whole sizing thing down.

Welcome to our new friends and Happy New Year to everybody! Hopefully everyone will have a wonderful 2007. We were fortunate enough to spend lots of time at WDW in 2006. I'm kind of sad that it looks like we won't have that same opportunity in 2007. DD is getting married in Mexico in May and we have to concentrate on that first! Maybe we can sneak in a short trip next December. Otherwise I will have to live my dreams of WDW vicariously through those of you with trips planned this year and your trip reports! :thumbsup2

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

You will love SSR..Did you request a specific builiding?? The carriage house is the closest the newest building will not be open yet not till April I think.. We love Congress Park building 1500 since it over looks Downtown Disney...Plus the playground my kids love it there..It is a bit more of walk to the main pool but we still love being there. This last time we were in The Paddock and it was a haul you do not want to be there. The buildings are newer but we felt like it was a real haul to walk to the main pool and all...Every afternoon they have pool games for the kids with prizes tooo!!!!!!!

We found out we were having twins when I was 16 weeks pregnant. We were totally shocked because we do not have twins in our family! The pregnancy was a rough one, with 4 preterm labors. I finally delivered at 36 weeks by emergency c-section. They were 6lbs 4 oz and 6lbs 10oz. They have enriched our lives so much and I cannot imagine one without the other! Sure, there are tough days, but I would not trade it for the world!!

I get this question a lot too - and mine are only about 5lbs different (and 1/4 inch). It cracks me up when people ask their age difference and I say 6 minutes and they look confused for a minute and ask "are they twins?" and I say yes and they say "are you sure?" I'm pretty sure as I was there. :rotfl:

I never gave you my info. Here it is:

Name: Joanne
screen name jlstwinmommy
Twins: B/G--age 3 - Joshua and Katelyn
other children: Christopher (8 - 9 by the end of this month)
DCL - grew up in southern Cal, so we go back every 5 years or so.
WDW - been going almost every other year since WDW opened.
Place I call home: MD
occupation: Project Manager
