Can I join too? I have all of a sudden become addicted to Disney. We moved to south florida 6 months ago and made our first trip to the world for Thanksgiving and now we are going back in four weeks. I have a feeling we will be visiting often

I was wondering what you all use for a stroller. I brought my peg aria last visit and it was ok, just wanted to know if there was a better idea out there.

Here is my info.
Name -Kelly
Screen name -twinmom2

Wow, 30 weeks! That is so wonderful that they are well!! The first time I went into preterm was 24 weeks so every week that went by was a celebration!

We too are going in 4 weeks. What are your dates? Are you staying at one of the resorts?

we are going for a short unexpected visit 2/8-2/11. My dh has to work in Olrando from the 2/5 -2/9 so, the hotel will be paid for with work expenses.. Im flying my sister in so she can go to Disney with the kids and I while DH works and then he will join us for the weekend. We are staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. We stayed there for our THanksgiving visit and loved it. Full kitchen, living room, dinning room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms . At that time i paid 149 a night. Can't beat the price. When are you going and staying? When did you end up delivering?
Kelly

I delivered at 36 weeks, with an emergency c-section. After 4 preterms, when it was time for them to come out...they wouldn't :) We are going February 8-16 and staying at POP. I cannot wait! My boys turn 5 while we are there so they are so excited! We are also bringing my in-laws who haven't been in like 20 years!

You were asking about strollers...I was wondering if anyone has used the backpack child carriers? If so, was it easier getting on and off the shuttles? Can you leave the carriers in the same area as strollers outside of rides?

Hello everyone! I just came across this thread. I have twins due in February, both girls. Erika Marie and April Rae. They will be joining their big sister Natalie and brother Caleb. I am currently on bedrest after some false labor. It will be a long time before we can afford WDW again with our new arrivals! Being on bedrest I'll probably be on the DIS a lot! So, I am sure all of you have stories of quick and easy twin deliveries, right?;)

I have ZERO complaints about delivering my twins, I hate to brag;) but I had the MOST perfect pregnancy I could ask for, I had zero problems during pregnancy, til the end, then it was the normal pressure. I worked fulltime in a factory until one week before delivery, they came at 36 weeks. Delivery- 4.5 hours flat, natural birth, I set a hosrital record for delivering twins. :) . The second baby was breech and I delivered in the C-section room, doctor thinking the first would be natural and the second would be C, the first came out, the second one turned and came out 16 minutes later. Wonderful! I'd do it again in a minute. Both weighed in at 5lbs, 3 ozs.
My son (12 YEARS LATER) was about 4 hours to deliver. I am just very blessed with this! Blessed with everything- 3 wonderful heathy kids and easy pregnancy's! I wish all women can experience such an awesome pregnancy and birth!!:dance3:

Welcome and congrats twinmom2 and Stitch1404. I had a pretty good experience with my twins delivery also. Keep in mind that my twins were born 26 years ago and the advancements are amazing. My twins were born at 32 weeks. They were 5lbs 3oz and 5lbs 4oz. I was in labor about 7 1/2 hours and they were born with no real difficulties. The second one was breach and they just waited for his feet to drop down and gave a little tug. I was very fortunate. They stayed in the hospital for 13 days and then they came home at the same time. They are now nearly 26! :confused3 Where does the time go!!!! Best wishes Stitch with your delivery and be sure to keep us posted!

I'd like to sign up, too. I didn't wade through all the pages on the thread, but I am getting ready for our first "just the four of us trip" and had a few questions about strollers and such.

Name: Chanin
Screen name: cmp1111
Kids: B/B fraternal twins, Andrew & Scott, will be 5 by the time we go in May
Occupation: SAHM

I, too, have twins that no one recognizes as twins anymore. They were born at 32 weeks, surprise preemie labor after a perfect pregnancy. 5 & 8 weeks in the NICU, respectively. Scott had NEC and had to have surgery, but now he's 2 inches taller and about 5 pounds heavier - most people assume he is at least a year older, though he's the younger one. ;) Go figure, huh?

We have not used a stroller in at least 2 years here at home. My stroller is kind of dead and nasty from sitting in the garage for 2 years, so it definitely isn't going. What's anyone's experience with 5 y.o.'s who have NOT been in a stroller for years? Would your kids go back in? What's the WDW situation with rentals? Do they rent doubles? Is it easier to rent two singles? I'd rather not deal with parking them, etc., if anyone thinks that it's wise to go without...

Thanks!

Another twin mom here--We're taking Edward & Elizabeth (age 5, will be 6 in March) in 10 days for their first trip!

CMP11--WELCOME and I have added your information to our first page

Pea-n-me,
Love that thread. I will dig through some photos and have to post some..

Hope everyone is doing well..

I am starting to plan the twins b-day party every single year I say I am not going to do to much and every year it turns out to be a big deal..This year we are having a party at creative play things for friends then a barbie and twelve dancing princess party at home for the family..Then to top it off on their acutal b-day we are taking them to Americna girl Dol cafe in NYC city...I can not wait to go there it should be a blast.....
I know it seems like a ton of stuff and a ton of money but we have so many friends and family it is hard to do one big party at home....

Hope all is well with everyone else...

Krisitn

cmp1111 - welcome. Here is an answer to your stroller question. Of course it totally depends on the child or children involved, but we took our 5 year old (almost 6 year old) grandson to WDW in September. Of course he hasn't used a stroller for years. He didn't hesitate one little bit to ride in the stroller. He was actually upset the day we decided NOT to take the stroller with us. He liked to walk some, but he loved the comfort of the stroller. WDW is BIG and after the first day of walking the kids wear out. Keep in mind though....if you push the stroller and they ride, guess who is going to have the energy late at night....it won't be you! The one day we didn't take the stroller was because the grandsons were bouncing off of the walls at 10:30 each night when we were worn out. We wanted to wear them out for one day! Have a great trip!

Thanks! I'll just have to see what they're willing to do. I don't want them on our shoulders all day every day, so...

And, I'll admit I'd like the storage space... :)

Don't get me wrong. We used the stroller every day except one. It is great for carrying "stuff". If you know there is a day you will be returning to the hotel mid day you could always not use the stroller in the morning and then get it for the afternoon. Whatever you will do I hope you have a fantastic time.

Hi!
Can I be added to the list too?

My info is:

Real Name: Kari
Screen Name: KariC (not original, is it?)
Kids: B/G, 4.5 years old, and one on the way (Yep, JUST ONE!!!)
Home: SE Ohio, and SSR
Next Trip: BWV at WDW Feb.7-13
Occupation: I used to say SAHM, but it seems like I stay in the minivan more than in the home now! :rotfl:

I have gggb quads that will be 5 in March.

I've been away from these boards for a while with holidays, etc and I can't get over how long this thread is - and how it just keeps going - it's great.

I have gggb quads, too, and the first time we went they were just 5 and it was a perfect age (one of many perfect ages for WDW :) ) -- best thing I did that trip was matching brightly colored shirts. And even though they were 5 we did rent strollers (2 dbls) - on the really hot days and the long days in the parks it kept the kids from getting too wilted! Have a great trip!

Hi all~
We have b/g twins Jake and Bailey (5/99) and another DS Tyler (7/00). Our first trip to WDW with the twins was when they were 9 months old. They love looking back at the pictures of them as babies at WDW. We are going at Easter for their 6th trip and Tyler's 5th! (Well, I was pg with Tyler when the twins were 9 mos so technically he was at Disney with us!)

I am so sorry to have not posted for so long. Guess you can tell I am busy and crazy most of the time. I have come to read some of the posts by multiple moms but not stopped long enough to say hi...... My girls are doing fine in the same room this year. I have seperated rooms at home so they still have some alone time. It has worked out well for us, Thank goodness since you never know......;)
